Very thoughtful of the Landrover engineers to design the car to rust in such a way that makes removing unnecessary metal for your Aston Martin body swap so much easier.

I have built several cut and shuts over the years. I highly recommend using a carbide blade in a circular saw over a grinder or sawzall. The cuts are square, straight and clean and the blade doesnt wander around. Especially pillars and anything that will eventually be butt welded.

I can't believe the amount of rust in that Land Rover, but I have to because I'm looking right at it (To borrow a Vice Grip meme). They must build those with a saltwater paint underneath to get the corrosion process going right in the factory. It's a miracle that frame is not rusted through in a few places. I am enjoying this project and admire your willingness to challenge/embarrass yourself in the process. High marks.

Yep powered by a little generator! I’d love to get mains supply or even a big generator. But the cost is vast! So yes I’ll be taking back to the home garage for the welding!
