👍😍😍 I love the original song, but when I watch the music video it ruins it a bit for me😅 The song is written by several people, but not Miley. This was in the very beginning of Aurora’s career, she was 17 years old. She was at the P3 radio station in Norway to promote her single “Awakening”. She was also given a challenge, and she chose this song, and had about an hour to rehearse before singing it live👍 I don’t think she knew the song, because you can see she’s reading the lyrics while singing 💕 Yes, Aurora is from Norway, Viking warrior❤️

I`m shure this is one of the "challenges" Aurora get from the P3 radio studio when wisiting them to promote one of her own new songs. I see the songs text in front of her. Then she made this cover within one hour. And may not knowing it from before..

i saw this post and it got blocked last night. I'm glad it got thru. Miley has been off my radar. The last video I saw was a crotch grabbing mess. I turned it off and tuned her out. Why so many of todays "stars" resort to acts that are more suitable to adult only clubs baffles me. Some can actually sing, and if more time was spent honing that talent they could improve even more. I replayed this without the video, she belted out a respectable version. Aurora however draws you in. She is the song when she performs. Her passions are expressed vocally. Add her ability to really sing gets my vote in this vs. Todays mainstream compared to the marvelous independants that won't bow to the labels, and producers strip shows is night and day. The new crop of indies will get my vote every time. With shows like you put on, giving these talents the exposure, I have been watching the change. The music money men better hire some new idea men. The true talent is rising, and someday soon will take over. Another good show Jeff, thank you

Personally I like Aurora's version better. Only thing I've enjoyed from Miley so far is the Backyard Sessions. I'm not head over heels for all of Aurora's covers, but a decent amount of them. She has a tendency to make the lyrics more meaningful, if that makes sense. She does the same with her own material, and quite often I prefer stripped down live versions over the album versions of her songs. Her cover of "La La La" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5i3lZt_oLCSgZY ) has already been suggested, and is one of my favorite covers of hers. "Famous Blue Raincoat" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZLJYZqwhricha8 ) is another.

Loved your reaction to both versions! I am afraid Miley is her generations Madonna, they both make me cringe. Miley has a great voice, but, she just tries to hard with her performances, sadly, she just cheapens herself, IMO

I gotta be honest and say I didn't warm to either of these. Miley is shock jock IMO, great singer with her clothes on, and Aurora's version seemed to be watered down. But hey, each to their own. As always I do have a suggestion for you to look at....when you get a chance. I've never seen this music video before and in all honesty I think it cheapened the song quite a lot. But then again I consider this song to be just another generic radio hit, following the same formula that just about every hit pop song for the past 20-25 years has followed (which is why I hardly ever listen to regular pop music, as I find the vast majority of songs to be boring). Aurora's version does not have the power of the original, but it is emotionally grounded. It is performed in a way that at least I feel that the lyrics has meaning on a personal level. Just simply the slight trembling of her voice does a lot to convey emotion, compared to the original where it seems the only recipe for adding emotion is to sing with more power. Her version of "Life on Mars" is great I also love her cover of "Rasputin" by Boney M (a cheesy German Euro-Disco band from the seventies) I know covers is what you do here, I'd still recommend you to check out some of her original songs (don't have to be reactions) "Runaway" "Lucky" Live in Nidarosdomen "Murder Song (5 4 3 2 1)" Live at 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert "It Happened Quiet" Live in Nidarosdomen or Live at The Current "Infections of a Different Kind" Live at HAIK "Daydreamer" Live at HAIK "I Went Too Far" Live at the Honda Stage "Exhale Inhale" Live performance - Vevo "Everything Matters" feat.
