I help with a man who is blind sometimes, he has interstate stands through Commision for the Blind SC and he’s brilliant when it comes to any math problem but he can’t see. Completely blind and to think of something like that happens to him or any of the others who do the same work is just SAD and ABSURD! I mean just attacked in your own home, to be able to see it happen is terrible but to literally be blind sided by 3-4 MEN and a dog! The notion that the police are there to suppress the poor is also a dangerous fallacy. Without the law, things would be far far worse for the underprivileged. The rich have leverage to protect themselves through corruption and private security and gated communities. Without the law the poor would be the first to suffer. Small businesses in poor communities would just get ransacked as we’ve seen already. Yeah, the police don’t magically appear when you need them but the threat of being arrested after you commit a crime is still a deterrent and at the very least get some criminals off the street. Without it we just go back to old timey violence, revenge and lynchings, and it’s the poor who will be on the losing end.

Legally blind does not mean you are blind. It just means you have bad vision. I was deemed legally blind in middle school, and I see just fine with glasses or contacts. It simply means you have less than 20/200 vision, which means you can only see well at around 20 feet or less. It also means that even with glasses or contacts your vision will never reach 20/20. If glasses or contacts can make you see at 20/20 vision, then you are not legally blind, if they cannot, then you are legally blind. Without glasses I cannot even see 20 feet, and everything is just a blur, with glasses and contacts I see just fine. Nonetheless, it does not mean you cannot see.
