I actually bought one of those Etenwolf Batterypowered Aircompressors like 6 months ago (the exact same model as shown by you), since I have some of my cars, trailers and bikes stored on a property without power and that thing is indeed pretty good. I can easily pump up four cars (including their spare tires), two trailers and two bikes with only like half of the battery of it and its compact enough so that I usually always have it in my trunk should I need it while traveling. And it pumps the tires up pretty quickly. I also like that it simply shuts off once it reaches the set pressure target.

Jared , I’m super excited to see this engine get built , put a hybrid oil pan on ,those stock ones are glass and break! Also great to see the PD150 intake I do all my ALH builds with them but I also custom bore out a stock PD150 shutter valve to protect against runaway! ( I remove the egr valve and bore it as big as possible up to the plate)It still flows well but will shut the air off if your turbo seals go and feed the engine 🤪race pipes are risky Also tune in a 4200 rpm rev limit you’ll thank me later😂

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the parasitic loss of the water pump removal isn't really gone just moved to a different component: the altenator. Instead of a directly driven waterpump the alternator now has to work harder to keep the battery charged because of the extra load the electric water pump will put on the battery. It could be that the efficiency is higher, the load is however still present.
@MarcoTedaldi2 ай бұрын
True. But you can run the water pump independently of the motor rpm. Either just run de pump at a constant speed or even regulate the speed dependant on temperature/load.

If you rotate the engine side ways you’ll have less struggle with those bolts. Instead of trying to spin the stand in a circle you’ll be trying to flip it end over end which it won’t do.

One of my dream swaps with a VW tdi is into a 67-73 Dodge Dart. With a full pro touring suspension setup and chassis stiffening it feels like it would be a corner carving weapon for a 450whp car. On the front of head bolts, if you're someone who continually modifies their stuff I don't know if I agree with putting another tty fastener in when you can reuse a set of studs and not be out the cost of a set of head bolts plus the cost of a set of studs when you invariably need to go back into it after scattering the bottom end because you just had to go for that little bit more.

I never realised that those TDi's had reverse-flow heads... With the Germans always nerding out on engineering and aiming for the best, I have a bit of trouble understanding this design choice... Is it only for packaging reasons? Anyways, I have a Jeep Comanche with an anemic 4-banger also with a reverse flow head that I was thinking of diesel-swapping... The fact that this VW engine would put those manifolds on the passenger side, where I have lots of empty space, instead of almost touching the brake master, would be an actual advantage!!!!
