Great video, thank you. I'm going to do some small mods to my new Kawa during the winter.

@@WrenchieI'd love to. A few parts are ordered already and some will have to wait until spring. But i'll let u know when they are up. Sliders, crank case guards, anti-vibration pads for fairing, gear indicator and paint protection are on the list.

@@Reseiver Nice... my 2012 could use some new case covers due to the parking lot tip overs :( . The 2016 is still in good shape (hope I didn't jinx it). Look forward to seeing the results of your work

thanks for this video... mounting my puig pro frame sliders on my 2014 ninja 1000 is just ahead of me. This video helps a lot

I looked at the cheaper dog-leg frame sliders, but any serious impact will bend the engine mounts and write off the bike. The official Kawasaki sliders and R&G mount to the front and rear bolts, so I personally think the extra £100 is worth it rather than potentially destroying the sub frame.

I understand your point. My goal was to protect during embarrassing topples... like in the garage. The 0 - 2 mph drops. I figure if I drop it at speed, the bike is toast no matter what sliders I have. Maybe I'm wrong but there ya' go.

Kawa sure didn;'t make it easy to remove or install the stupid fairing, did they? And for sure, the exhaust cover is absurdly difficult to assemble, had the same inufriating issue you did re-installing it. Good job though For the left side, you could have used a coloured marker to draw a little line on the frame and the other piece, and just align the 2.

Bro. I see u use torque wrench. How big the torque (lb.ft) to tighten it?
@Wrenchie4 жыл бұрын
I just checked the 2011 service manual (cause its on my computer and I don't have to get up and go get the 2016 hard copy) but the lower engine mount It says that the lower engine bracket bolts (that's the bolt you replace with the sliders) are to be torqued to 36ft lbs. However, the torque table in the manual says 42 ft lbs. I think its 36 as nothing in the instructions is torqued to 42

What's the torque on the engine bolt?
@Wrenchie6 жыл бұрын
The upper engine mounting bolts look like they are 44Nm. But you should check your service manual to make sure.

I did without taking out fairing
@Wrenchie6 жыл бұрын
Yeah? I was really thinking about iut but the right hand engine bolt look way too long to remove without clearing the fairing. Good to know if you need to remove them for any reason! Thanks for the tip.
