Kids today don't understand the significance of Wrestlemania. Back then, pro-wrestling was regional, so you only see the wrestlers from your region. Most of the matched were squash match, where a named pro beats on a nobody. The main event will be the last match between two recognized wrestlers. Occasionally, another top wrestler from another region would come and wrestle the top dog in your region. That's it. Wrestlemania broke the mold and featured main events for every match with top wrestlers from every region. It was like the NCAA March Madness for wrestling that all happens in one night.

true, but the match was big anyway , you know i didn't ever watch the first wrestlemania until i was 18 & that was 1993 I rented it from blockbuster video , but you know in my opinion the greatest westlemania ever was number 3
