That would signal morals over money, that this is not about money, but about doing what's right. However, when they accept money in order to not go foward with the accusations then I know this is not about doing what is right this is about compensation. They want to be compensated for what Vince did to them. They want some of Vince's money. It's not about putting an evil man behind bars, this is about money.

Jim Cornette worked for WWF in the 90s and was dumbfounded by some of the details of Janel Grant's lawsuit when he read it on his podcast. He said the man he is today, at least as described in the lawsuit, is NOT the Vince McMahon he knew back in the 90s. He said McMahon was like a chummy high school principal or headmaster at a boarding school who had a sense of humor and a lighter side, but was also a very professional authority figure. He could joke around, but always knew that business came first and it should be treated with the utmost professionalism. Cornette said that there were no rumors, no stories, no improprieties, no scandals, no complaints from staff or wrestlers, no substance abuse issues, nothing offensive or unprofessional for a work environment, nothing that would indicate that he was a ruthless psycho or a sexual predator. Cornette thinks that something shifted after the company went public on the stock market and McMahon became a billionaire. Beating the feds, beating the past scandals, beating WCW, the high of the attitude era, the company going public, becoming a billionaire, the number of blows to his head in the ring, and performance enhancing drugs all sent him to the moon. He gradually changed and became increasingly impulsive. He lost his mind. McMahon has always had a dark side. He is a ruthless, perverted, twisted, domineering maniac.
@Odious_One3 ай бұрын
There is a filmed shot of Vince after he won the steroid trial when he is getting in his limo where he removes the neck brace and smiles at the camera then gets driven away. THAT is all a sane intelligent person should need to know about McMahon. His wife and children are the exact same way.

A posterchild for what happens when a child gets twisted. First by not having any sort of stability and then having that fed by having all the money that could buy anything at all. True monsters tend to come from such a mix. The best characters in fiction often incorporate pieces of the author's real life personality. I think it is pretty clear that the reason "Mr. McMahan" came off so natural and believable was that a so much of him was true in Vincent K McMahan.

WWE hasn't built up any impressive heels in recent years. It stinks. I think they're actually trying to avoid writing truly diabolical heels. The massive cultural shift in the last decade has made it hard to portray evil characters in a creative medium that's supposed to be performance art. They don't want to cross lines and offend audiences. They're holding back and it's hurting the writing and the intensity of the feuds on screen.

It's not a real title so how did Bret get screwed? Storyline screwed yes. But kayfabe screwed? I don't think so.

@lukasmischlich11784 ай бұрын
it's about the image the fans have. Even if they know it's fake, there's still a picture that people have in their head and Bret always wanted nothing more than to be a hero, instilling good morals in kids and people in general. It was way more important to him than money, he was just a good guy and didn't wanted the industry to push bad morals to be the new cool. In the wrestling industry befor Bret, there have always been those bigger than life baby face champions, that stood for good morales, hell even golden era hogan was telling kids to be good Americans and eat their vitamins, I bet Bret was inspired by those heros he grew up with. Alot of people argue that Bret just had a big ego and didnt want to leave his spot at the top, but he was never one to not put others over. He sold great for others and was trying to work well with most wrestlers, even with Shawn he did his best to work well with him. He was going to pass the belt, he just asked for it to not be in Canada. To think Bret would be a guy to pull a Medusa and take the belt to WCW is just crazy. They had the most loyal guy who basically offered to work for way less money two times and still kicked him out and then fucked him over and fucking broke him.
@lukasmischlich11784 ай бұрын
I really wanna believe the whole screwjob was work and Bret was in on it and they still keep it a secret, make it all a tragic fall of a hero story, fucked over by his comrades he trusted, but seeing how Bret has been doing and what kind of guys real life Vince and Shawn have been, I could imagine they just fucked him because they are/were absolute immoral assholes.
@vanyadolly4 ай бұрын
It wasn't the belt that mattered, it was that he didn't want to lose to Shawn in Canada (his home country) because Shawn had been such a massive asshole to him. Even Shawn admits that now. Bret also hadn't wanted to leave the WWE but was told to by Vince who wanted to go back on the contract he'd offered. Bret wasn't going to betray them and he was willing to drop the belt to just about anyone else, so there was no reason to fuck him over like Vince did.

Vince is such a boss. He's such an inspiration, you know? How he managed to take over the business. That takes guts and a lot more. He is a conqueror. He expanded his father empire. Yeah. He has done bad things. We all have. I don't judge him because if I had power in my hands I know I would abuse it. Yes. I would. I'm not Jesus Christ.

@@CalebePriester Bad people can be honest. Sometimes all that means is that you're lacking the social aptitude to understand when you should be lying. You don't get brownie points for that.
@CalebePriester4 ай бұрын
@@vanyadolly There's no one single human being alive or dead who would not abuse power if they had it. This is well documented throughout human history. Only Jesus fucking Christ was perfect, if he was real that is. If the owner of this channel had power he would abuse it as well. Every body would. King David did abuse his power and God liked him so much. You had David's son who had 1000 concubines and God loved him as well. What I'm trying to say is that even those who supposedly are very close to God will abuse their power. I like more the people who are genuine about their evil than those who pretend to be good. At least I know the first are being honest and I value honesty even if it comes from evil people.
