@@redmond4577 bro. They did not f'n playfight. That sh is the origin of boxing, mma and what americans call "amateur wrestling". At best the true origin of wrestling comes from ancient rome. If you inform yourself then not that many gladiator fights actually ended in death. Some Gladiators had huge names and where worth a lot of money to the owners. Some fought on even after beeing freed. So as you could die in a gladiator match but some had legit fanbases and where huge draws then it is not far fetched to talk about matchfixing and making "sure" that none of the two competitors died or got seriously injured in big matches in places like the collosseum. Both ludus where the fighters where "signed" most likely didn't want their biggest star to get hurt. And as those big fights where huge draws like I said it is also not far fetched to think about somewhat of a choreo when two huge names fought. Maybe those matches didn't have a fixed outcome but I can legit imagine them having one or two big spots both competitiors knew about. And I guess in some matcjes both knew they not gonna die
