Had the pleasure of meeting Roddy in Boston/Foxboro Massachusetts, after the show. It was at the first, to my Knowledge, King of the Ring. Roddy At the time just came back from filming They Live, and he had to wrestle The Magnificent Muraco in a heel vs heel bracket, with Roddy getting the praise from the fans, and the crowd quickly went from booing both of them to LOUDLY screaming "Piper, Piper, Piper" and it was a few months later when Adrian Adonis attacked him, and started their feud up to wrestlemania 3 match. But he was a force of nature, and a gentleman when I met him as a kid, which was strange, because of all the crazy stuff that he did on TV at the time. Thanks for the memories Hot Rod!

Man I remember when They Live came out in the fall of '88. We lived a few blocks down from the old Allerton theater in the Bronx. What a shithole that place was by then. It was absolutely freezing in the summer time(you literally had to bring a hoodie or a jacket) because of the overpowered AC and freezing in the winter because the heat was always out. You'd be watching a movie and you could literally see everybody's breath cause it was so cold. Well I remember making my dad take me to see that movie twice in about a week, the day it came out and the next weekend after JUST because Rowdy Roddy Piper was in it and I loved the Hot Rod. He was awesome in it. I still have my "World Wrestling Federation Presents: The Official Biography of Rowdy Roddy Piper. Includes an exclusive introduction by Rowdy Roddy Piper" book that my pop bought me cause I was such a big fan. Wish I could have gotten it autographed by him. Anyway sorry for the long rant, just brings back some great memories. Love you and miss you a lot dad, sleep in peace. You too Mr. Toombs.

Met Piper back in 2012, he was doing a meet n greet. When I got to him, I told him my young son and I were huge fans. He asked where my son was and I explained we couldn’t afford for the both of us to attend. He looked at the guy who was running the show and asked him to go get him a water and then said “what’s your sons name?” I told him and he signed an extra picture for my son and looked at me and said “hide this quick or thr promoter is going to want his $75.00 cut. He then gave me a quick hug and said “tell David (my son) I said Hi and I’m sad I missed meeting him”. What a Gentleman and a Legend

As a teen (Yes I said Teen!) I remember seeing the movie poster. It didn't have the names of actors/wrestlers, I remember looking at the poster, something about the eyes in the poster looked familiar? I recognized the eyes in the poster. I was there in 03 before the Xichigan game and Kegs and Eggs will never be the same. I saw Roddy in 82 at the Ohio Center vs Dick Slater. I have both good and bad memories of Hot Rod and regardless if he was racist or not? He was always entertaining and should have been a World Champion. Thanks for the memories Hot Rod!! I saw Ric Flair get slapped by a bartender in Charlotte North Carolina for breaking in line at the bar to get a drink at a Night Club at the intersection of Park Rd and Woodlawn in 1986. I also saw him have a dude thrown-out of Rocky's Night club on East Independence Blvd when he pushed Flair for no reason in 1993. Living Charlotte NC from the 1970s-1990s was a great place because 200 Pro Wrestlers have lived here.

The first time i saw roddy, i was in nyc watching wrestling on the spanish channel on Wednesday nights. Chavo Guerrero was the number one good guy. Roddy runs out and sneak attacks chavo. The fued lasted a few weeks with roddy always taking cheap shots and running away. So finally they have their match and some time into it, chavo is holding roddy and suddenly they drop an actual steel cage from the ceiling locking them in the ring. Chavo got his revenge as the crowd... and 12 year old me went crazy
