What a wonderful song in praise of Sri Ramakrishna, in a Western melody! I never tire of happily acknowledging the work of Swami Medhananda, in bringing a sermon that considers the divinity of Sri Ramakrishna, "but not in the Vedantic sense", as Thakur explained to the stubborn Naren. Sri Ramakrishna teaches the excellence of the doctrine of devotion. It is the devotion that Narada Muni teaches that Sri Ramakrishna teaches. And Swami Medhananda is faithful to this, and this is not only wonderful, but it is rare, when we consider the common explanations related to the Ramakrishna Order and Mission, especially in the West, which is not very enthusiastic about talking about Sri Ramakrishna. The time that is wasted on explanations of the books of Advaita Vedanta is a path absolutely contrary to what Sri Ramakrishna recommended. Congratulations then to Swami Medhananda for his fidelity to the Master, and certainly for his courage, for it is true that his work is quite solitary.

Excellent talk! With all due respect, I at one time wondered if Sri Ramakrishna was schizophrenic. There are those "officially" diagnosed who are in fact transversing parallel dimensions etc., but to straight laced by the book (AMA) types it's a mental issue. I definitely have to review again the wrestling match he had with Ramana Maharshi? Is that correct or should I not do the dishes when listening to these teachings? Overall inspiring talk and appreciated for sure. Many thanks, Swamiji!

You will find it in Swami Vivekananda's Vedantic Cosmopolitanism. I remember Swamiji quoting this whole extract in that book. It's probably from the Vivekananda biography by his disciples, or one of his letters.

@@fokrey5591 I am not a scholarly person like swami medhananda. But so far what ever I have read or heard so far about God it's more or less the same in all religions. Definition might be different only. The common thing is universally. That you have to figure out for yourself. 😀
