RIP Hana Kimura. I didn't know much about her but it's just something that's unfortunate. Like those messages and tweets broke her. That Eddie Guerrero title win was a myth. Both Batista (in his book) and Randy Orton (in an interview with SI) have clarified that Orton was suppose to win the title not Eddie.

Batista in his iconic first title reign, absolutely destroyed almost every main eventer. He absolutely destroyed HHH and JBL who were last year champions. The main difference in 2005 Batista and Cena was that in Cena's matches, we thought how Cena is gonna survive the opponent, but in Batista's matches, we used to think, how the opponents gonna survive Batista.

I loved Batista's WHC reign more than John Cena's WWE Title reign. I kinda wish that Batista would've stayed on Raw & John Cena would've stayed as Smackdown. I get that we would not have gotten to see the epic rivalry between Batista & The Undertaker. But IMO, John Cena was WAY more on Smackdown than on Raw. By the road to WrestleMania 22 started, John Cena was starting to get boo'd by the fans & by ECW One Night Stand came, John Cena was the most hated man on the PPV. Everyone hated him & wanted him to get his ass kicked. But back to my point, I just kinda wish in a way that Batista stayed on Monday Night Raw & John Cena would've stayed on Friday Night Smackdown. This way, Batista possibly would've been the top guy on Raw & John Cena would've been the top guy on Smackdown.

Cena was getting booed WAY before the lead up to WrestleMania 22. He was getting booed at SummerSlam 05 against Jericho. It wasn’t as noticeable as WM 22, but there was still boos here and there. I’ll say this I’ve always felt Batista had the better reign and was bigger than Cena in 2005. He’s character didn’t come off as an underdog which is what made fans turn on Cena among other reasons. It wasn’t until 06 once Cena was starting to come into he’s own as THE GUY, Batista’s injuries started, and ECW:One Night Stand 2006 happened. From than on Cena was the guy in my eyes.

The Batista vs HHH feud was so well built...you could tell it was well thought out with months of build-up and close calls before the first title match. Don't know if we'll ever see one like that again. Batista’s title reign was overlooked by John Cena’s first WWE Title reign. Of course, Dave brings it up 5 years later, on Raw before WrestleMania 26. But it’s never actually given light it needs. This is also the same guy whose first WWE title reign ended after 2 days. Nonetheless, Batista still made it work, which is what made him look like one the greatest guys to work in WWE.
