Man this was literally the era I grew up with. Seeing the shield disband, seeing Daniel Bryan be pushed to the top, watching 3MB be the best jobbers ever and Ryback being one of my favorites! Then Brock Lesnar returned and I, not knowing who he was, immediately loved him!

WWE in 2013 had a little bit of everything across the board. On one hand, you had the rise of talents like Daniel Bryan and The Shield, the debut of factions such as The Wyatt Family and The Authority, and on the other hand, there were a lot of misses such as Miz's babyface run, Dolph Ziggler's World Title reign, Jack Swagger's push running into a brick wall, not to mention the other failed pushes of Curtis Axel, Fandango, and Damien Sandow. It wasn't until towards the end of the year that there seemed to be a direction, as the Yes Movement was beginning to catch fire.

I look at 2013 (and SummerSlam that year in particular) as the beginning of the end of the Cena Era. It was Cena’s last WrestleMania main event, last major title reign (his reigns after that were transitional reigns)

Kaitlyn vs. Aj Lee was HUGE for me. The Divas division had so many great in-ring performers, but they were always overlooked (and underused so that John Laryngitis' step-daughters could be overpushed🙄) because of the stupid storylines and gimmicks they did. Kaitlyn and Aj were top-tier, and even though we were supposed to boo Aj, both were so great that I cheered both. The 2 of them- not just AJ- made the divas division worth tuning in to for them alone. Randy is my all-time fave, so to see him get his spotlight again was just incredible for me. He absolutely KILLED it, and I couldn't have been happier. That's an understatement because if ANYONE went against Randy- even if I liked them- I was booing them like crazy! THIS was the year that made me proud of being a wrestling fan again. It's too bad that the next year and 2015 Wrestlemania saw me leave from watching WWE and taking it seriously even now that I'm tuning in sometimes, but 2013 was INCREDIBLE!

Honestly after WrestleMania 29, I kinda stopped watching wrestling for a while and didn’t come back until 2018 when my cousin got into WWE herself and got me and my brother back into it. 2012 and years before were so good, but as a kid, 2013 didn’t get my attention the same way the other years did. I’ll gladly watch some of the highlights of this year on the Network/Peacock, like SummerSlam and other matches, but I’m in no rush though. For those who grew up with 2013, hope you guys enjoy the memories like many of us did with years before.👍

I went to a WWE house show at that time and it was really good It was at our old arena here in Sacramento The show felt like a custom or something Small stage and a ring No big deal stuff And The Shield came through the crowd The music hit out of nowhere

I think Del Rio was a better babyface than people gave him credit for Yeah he definitely works better as a heel for sure But he got some pretty good crowd reactions, those Si! Si! SI! chants were pretty catchy Plus if it wasn’t for babyface Del Rio, we wouldn’t have gotten the double turn with Ziggler and may not have gotten to see Ziggler shine as a babyface (even if Ziggler was struggling to maintain high status on the card by the end of 2013)

2013 for me personally - The good: 1) Entire runs of Cena and rock (I don't know why people hate this one. Their promos were good too.) 2) Rise of Bryan and Shield, and Rhoades. 3) Ziggler and Ryback's some moments. 4) Rise of Swagger, Cesaro. (Specially the gimmick change with swagger) 5) Punk (Like it or not, he was more popular and crowd reacted much louder as compared to 2012, and match quality was sensational as compared to 2012/11). 6) Wyatt Family. 7) The Miz. (If you think his face run was bad, just watch crowd reactions of his matches, even at WWE Superstars and Main Event). 8) the real start of Women's Revolution with aj lee and paige. The bad: 1) Giving up on Ziggler. 2) Shield beating Ryback everytime and he never got his revenge, which stopped his momentum. 3) Swagger's push stopped. 4) Miz rarely getting big wins. 5) Amazing matches between Orton and Bryan but bad finishes. 6) Orton vs Big Show. 7) Damien winning MITB, and then losing it in that way. Overall: Really good and better than 2009-2012, 2014, partial 2017, 2018,19,20. I think 2013 was a good year overall in recent memory, many think of it as controversial, as they think it had some really good moments and some really bad ones.

Calling AJ's influence small is about as clueless as it gets. AJ was the single most important figure, period. WWE likes to maintain an image, that's why they try to give the credit to the women in NXT for the wrestling. Guess what, women have been able to put on great matches forever. They were able to way back in the 80s & 90s WWF too. WWE doesn't care about how good the matches are, they care about money. AJ proved to WWE that a woman could make them money in the modern era and do it well. NXT doesn't mean the shit that the hardcore fans want it to believe, or else we would just get the best in-ring wrestlers for all the titles. Shitty ass wrestlers like Goldberg wouldn't be squashing KO for World Titles.
