CM Punk's run was occasionally overshadowed by others, but at the end of the day, I feel he was WWE's best performer in 2012. His character, promo and matches were superb, especially his character who was essentially the original Roman Reigns asking for respect. What did you think of CM Punk's title reign?

Can u imagine. Cm punk vs undertaker WrestleMania 29. Longest title reign in the modern era vs the streak. People would actually be conflicted on who will win since taker is getting up there in age (taker as champ won't be ideal given his age) and punk is white hot after (in this reality) defeating the rock twice on ppv. All signs point to punk winning but people won't believe that the streak will end until they see it. Perfect opportunity to beat the streak imo also considering punk was one of the few opponents smart enough to use the urn vs taker and it's understandable from a lure perspective why taker will lose since not only was the urn used against him but he just recently lost Paul therefore making him as vulnerable as ever. So we have an opportunity to end the streak that makes sense from a lure and logical perspective at the time. Instead we got Brock making taker look like a old pathetic man and Cena vs rock 2 which they could have easily have still done anyways without the title. In this reality u keep punk happy giving him the main event he always wanted and deserved and also extending his title reign (he should lose the title to DB with the emergence of the yes movement either in SummerSlam that year or in WrestleMania 30 (I would say WrestleMania 30)). Taker keeps his integrity even in a lost and you can easily build him up again by having him face someone like Cena or Orton in the next mania then have him feud with punk later down the line once punk loses the belt.

I still love his reign but looking back at it, he really was overshadowed a lot especially by Cena and sometimes it was WWEs fault and sometimes it wasn't. Like John Cena vs The Rock is bigger than Punk vs Jericho, also Cena vs Lesnar in his return match is also bigger than Punk vs Jericho. I believe even if he lost he deserved that triple threat with Rock and Cena at WM 29, and it would have made sense since really WWE has focused so much on them since 2011, but at the same time if we had gotten that then we would have never gotten the great match with Undertaker. I don't agree with everything Punk said, i think at times he was wrong but for someone who held your main championship for 434 days, i think he should have been booked a little better.

Huge CM Punk Fan and he's tile reign wasn't taken seriously by the company they just wanted him to hold it for the Rock and Cena two match and I understand that the Rock and John Cena are bigger stars but CM Punk had all of it to be a top guy but theu didn't believe in him and that sucka still to this day. At the end of the day I love his reign it was enjoyable compare to all the trash champions they have now he was a really good champion.

Never say never. If Punk got that triple threat one could argue he would still be there today. Mightve wrestled Taker down the road as Taker clearly had many more years in him. Idk if you can blame WWE for the booking. They had amazing main event build ups at the time. The best vs the best. A pro wrestling fans dream at the time. They had Cena and Rock bringing old fans back in a perfect way and creating more new casual fans. You can't blame the booking for having such a bloated main event at the time.

All I will say is that this truly was a factor of my High School Years in the Early 10's, always remember 2011-12 fondly with this reign being apart of it. Even went to WM 28 and being worried he'd lose, was worried all the way up til Summerslam he'd lose and didn't know or believe he'd beat Cena's record which he not only did but by another 50+ Days. Reign wasn't the business move he'd of liked but he really should be grateful for having and carrying the company's main prize for over a year, something so many others have never done before.

The only dissapointing thing about his reign was his calibre of opponents . That kinda made his reign not to be as eventful and legendary as it should have been . Atleast at the beginning of his reign ,he had a good opponent like Chris Jericho . Yes ,he had super matches with Daniel Bryan but Bryan wasnt in the same league as Jericho,Cena and Triple H . Ryback should not have been put in a programme with Punk because that feud was going to be a lose -lose for everyone involved. I think Triple H should have done the right thing and got in a programme with Punk for the title for atleast 2 PPVs beggining at Summerslam with Punk going over clean. I also think he should have gone clean over Cena at Survivor Series 2012 and carried on beating him at TLC as well. Atleast if he had faced these guys , his reign would have felt like a bigger deal since he would have been in the main event .

assistance from Cena who would cause a distraction by delivering an Attitude Adjustment on John through the Announce Table and this allowing Punk to climb out of the cage and retain.The Great American Bash would see Punk,Cena,and Big Show wrestle for the WWE Title with all three men having a Triple Threat match that would end with Punk pinning Show after usurping an Attitude Adjustment from John Cena.Money In The Bank would see Punk defend his WWE Title against a new challenger in Daniel Bryan who would want to end the title reign of Punk and this would see both men have a Ring Of Honor match at MITB which would see Punk retain after performing a GTS on Bryan.Punk and Cena would finally have their one on one match at SummerSlam which would end with Paul Heyman returning and costing Cena the WWE Title with Punk and Heyman celebrating in victory.Punk and Bryan would have an Iron Man match at Night Of Champions with Paul using his backstage stroke to keep Cena out of the match with the match being made no interference with Punk and Bryan having another ROH type match with Punk using dirty tactics to retain the WWE Title.Punk and Cena would finally have their match at Hell In A Cell with Cena walking out of the match with a destroyed shoulder and this seeing the referee calling for the match after Cena could no longer compete with the broken shoulder.Cena would name his replacement for Survivor Series with it being named as The Rock with The Rock and Punk having their long awaited rematch for the WWE Title with Punk defeating The Rock doing something that not even Cena managed to do at WrestleMania(with help from The Shield).Punk would have to defend his WWE Title against Ryback in a TLC match for TLC with Punk retaining after receiving some help from The Shield who would attack Ryback near ringside and deliver a Shield Triple PowerBomb onto the Announce Tables.Punk and Ryback would have a rematch at the Tribute To The Troops show with it being named a Steel Cage match for the WWE Title and this would see The Shield enter the ring after climbing up the cage and Roman would lay Ryback out with a Spear allowing Punk to retain the title by pinning Ryback.Punk and The Rock would have their rematch at Royal Rumble with Punk defeating The Rock once again and continuing his WWE Title reign going into Elimination Chamber where he would manage to retain inside of the Chamber leading to the question “will Punk ever lose the WWE Title?”.A Triple Threat match could happen at WrestleMania 28 with Cena finally regaining the WWE Title in front of millions and this leading to The Rock shaking the hand of Cena and both men laying out Punk at the end of the match.Extreme Rules would see Cena and Punk have a rematch with Punk making a viable case that he was never defeated in their WrestleMania 29 match.Cena would defeat Punk in their match after forcing Punk to tap out to the STF(with a chain in Punk’s mouth).Punk and Cena would have one more rematch with the match being a I Quit match with Punk losing to Cena after Cena forced Punk to tap out to his own move at PayBack.Punk would try to enter the MITB to regain his momentum but this would see Paul turn on Punk and side with The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar who would return to cost Punk the MITB briefcase.Punk and Lesnar would have a No Holds Barred match at SummerSlam with this match ending in Lesnar brutally beating Punk and landing a devastating F-5 on Punk on top of the Steel Steps.Punk and Lesnar would have a rematch at Night Of Champions inside of a Steel Cage with Punk and Lesnar destroying each other in the cage but Lesnar would still manage to defeat Punk after almost breaking Punk’s Arm after locking him in the Kimura Lock.Punk would be absent for BattleGround and would only return to screw Brock out of his WWE Title match in a Fatal Four Way.Hell In A Cell would see Punk and Lesnar have a Cell match with Punk exercising his demons and defeating Brock in front of the entire world.Punk would side with the Yes Movement to take on Team Authority for Survivor Series with Daniel Bryan defeating Randy Orton and guaranteeing his match for TLC.Punk would be added to the match with HHH reluctantly finding Punk more deserving and this would see a Triple Threat match between Punk,Orton,and Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at TLC with Orton retaining the belts.Punk would enter the Royal Rumble and this would see Punk come close to winning the Rumble until being eliminated by a returning Brock Lesnar.Punk would enter the Elimination Chamber but fall short in winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title after Triple H cheated Punk out of the belt.HHH and Punk would have their match at WrestleMania 30 with Punk gaining revenge for every shady action HHH took and this would be Punk last match in the WWE and Punk would defeat The King Of Kings becoming the fabled “King Slayer”.

Should have been CM Punk vs Undertaker streak vs streak in the main event of Wrestlemania 29. Cena could have won the Royal Rumble and said he gets to choose any champion he wants; therefore, he chooses the “peoples champion” and gets his rematch with Rock. They co-main event and then throw in a filler match between Cena vs Rock and Punk vs Taker just to let the crowd rest a little.

We can ask Cena in 08 if winning it meant anything. 2014 Bautista won the rumble and it meant nothing. My favorites to point to Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus winning back to back years only to OPEN Wrestlemania. There’s been plenty of times where winning the Rumble was worthless.
