The Epoque is my second favorite Wretched book (After New Flesh). The setting has a great deal of promise for varied and cool scenerios.

Great update to a great setting! But still needs more Dreyfus! 🙂
@RPGPundit10 күн бұрын
The adventure the Red Room wrote connected to the Invisible College is also related to the Dreyfus Affair.
@TheRedRoomChannel10 күн бұрын
🤣 We're waiting for you to write the Dreyfus RPG, where all player characters are Dreyfusards.

@@TheRedRoomChannel would that RPG be too political, or not political enough? 😀 "Dreyfus: The Accusing"

😊 cool. Would love to see more of these in the local gaming stores & on Amazon.
@RPGPundit10 күн бұрын
Yeah, well, I'm sure they could put it on Amazon, but Amazon is almost criminal how small the profit to the publisher is. DTRPG and LULU give you a better cut. And in this case I'm sure their own Red Room store is the best option for them. Spread the word, share the review!

2:47 Nostromo takes place in this era, of course the Boer war does as well. The Avalon Hill boardgame "Source of the Nile" references the period as well and if you wanted to add RP elements to a boardgame, this is the one. I'd be seriously remiss to not mention Flashman as well. More or less, if you can't have fun with this ya just ain't tryin'.

7:34 so..... Wretched black lodge ( invisible college ) is coming in the future?!
@RPGPundit10 күн бұрын
I don't know about that; what I was talking about is that they made an adventure for Wretched Epoque which is a crossover with the Invisible College RPG.

I got the Old School Campanion 2 for Christmas. I am looking forward to reading it.
@RPGPundit6 күн бұрын
I hope you enjoy it. I suppose you've already heard me mention that the adventures are mostly derived from folk tales, legends, and in a couple of cases even songs from the medieval (or early renaissance) period.

@RPGPundit Yes I have, which probably makes them even better.

Thanks for the review. The Wretched RPG core book is still free (and it will always be) but until Christmas day the expanded version (which has additional rules from several settings) will also be free. About the Apaches, most of the information in the book was taken from news articles of the time. There was quite of a lot of sensationalism, no doubt, so it has to taken with a grain of salt. Still, some of the gangs are either fictional or adapted to the setting.
@RPGPundit10 күн бұрын
Yeah, reading it, as an historian even without doing any checking, it had the feel of a real story as opposed that something someone would just come up with for an RPG product.
@TheRedRoomChannel10 күн бұрын
@@RPGPunditI would certainly not come up with it. I only found out about the whole scope of the Apache underworld when writing this.

Your comments about your RPG bookshelf (and a day spent reorganizing my bookshelves) makes me wonder - how many non-WotC books do we think the D&D team has on their shelf? Monte Cook might be cringe now, but you know that dude had a huge RPG library. Same for Mearls.
@RPGPundit10 күн бұрын
The current team? Almost nothing. They probably only have wotc books that they were given by the company, and tons of vegan cookbooks.
