Seeing the Grand Canyon by helicopter is by far the worst way to see it. Going to the East wall on the south side at sunset, or facing Eastward at Sunrise, you'll realize why it's one of the wonders of the world. I think the most beautiful place on earth.

I know the grand canyon is famous and it's great and all, but being from the American West I would recommend Zion National Park if you are in the Vegas area. Gorgeous. A lot of excellent national parks on the Utah / Arizona border.

Yeah, um no, you can totally walk down in and back out of the Grand Canyon as long as you're fit enough for it. It's a long day though. You can also walk down one rim and up the other in a day. Probably best not to do it in summer though.

The Grand Canyon is spectacular if you go at the right time of day with the sun setting or rising. Another is if there is a lightning storm off in the horizon. If you’re lucky enough to go at sunset & see a lightning storm off in the horizon you’ll view it as a religious experience. I don’t imagine seeing it from inside a helicopter would be all that impressive though especially if they don’t take you to the prettiest parts.
