I heard a tip that if you want some texture on your spraypaint yous should just do it from more far away and it leaves this rough texture. I have to try it some time.

@@pauliecabs I was searching for the right one for a long time. It had to be an early one (no third brake-light), rust-free and unmolested. I love the color combination of silver with a red convertible-top. It's the same color-palette as the early porsche roadsters, corvettes and mercedes used to have (german: Silberpfeil). As the early ones were handbuild at Maggiora i think those will rise in value a lot once they become 30+years old. Please make sure to keep all the original parts somewhere safe as it is a pain to find them again years later. I paid a fortune just to get the correct Grundig Radio (with the organic shape that fits the radio-slot, Securety-Code-Card + Pin ) that was thrown away in the CD-age. Love your content, i think a lot of Barchetta-owners will find your videos while searching for problem-solving ideas.

Even if I make any changes I will be sure to keep the original parts. Some things like the radio are getting harder to find and like you say more expensive!

Very nice. I've been looking for a local vendor of VHT paints and added Anvil to my bookmarks. Unfortunately they don't have the wrinkle in yellow. What paint did you use for the lettering? The blue really pops.

Yellow would look good. I hope you manage to find some. Also, I should have practised first and done a few tests on other things to get the effect perfect. For the letters I used Humbrol enamel models paints.

Beautiful job! How are the colours holding up? Are they affected by the heat of the engine? I'm planning to do the exact same job on mine.

Thanks! The colours are OK still the same. I used Humbrol enamel paint for the lettering. The problem I have at the moment is the sound proofing is sagging and making the cover a bit dirty. That's the next job!

Great video! Painting the cover is also on my to-do list. Did you put any kind of clear coat? Mine has the cold air filter but it was installed by the previous owner, so I can't tell if it makes any difference with the stock one.

Thanks! No, just the red paint no primer or clear coat. If I did it again, I'd try and get more even coats.
