This storyline/plot sounds very interesting and sounds like something that absolutely should be published. I wish you the best of luck as you pour into this. This is so inspiring for me to pick up my unfinished first draft again

I'm living for the cocoon content...but girl I completely related to the dialogue struggle lol. I literally am constantly googling things or looking at other novels I own as a point of reference lol

hahaha not the cocoon content 💀 but it's good to know that not everyone who is writing a book knows exactly what their doing lol

I love this!!💞 I'm currently working on my own writing project, so it's so inspiring to see others on the same journey. I think it's great that you already have defined characters without letting them fall into a cliche or stereotype. I think the stakes are really good too for both August and Noah, with just enough tension for the readers to be intrigued without it being frustrated. The way you described Noah reminds me SO much of the main characters in Hidden Figures, kind of a combination of all three women. I know you don't have anything set in stone, but I feel like the two men and one woman is a little bit stereotypical, so just watch out for that. But just listening to you talk about the characters and world, I feel like they're already real people!! (Also, Milanote is a great program for brainstorming! - and it's completely free)

Thank you for the kind words 🤎 And I'll definitely have to check out Milanote sometime soon! Wishing you the best with your writing project.

Loved learning about your characters! Can’t wait to see how you crack on with this story! Also, the Myers-Briggs test is such a good way to get to know your characters more even if you don’t actually take it. That was one of my tips for making characters in a video I have coming out soon.

I really appreciate you giving info about how to punctuate correctly when it comes to dialog because I also didn't know about that rule 👀 I remember seeing dialogs in books using commas but I just didn't know why and I never bothered to look it up so it's good to know now because I'm also currently writing a book! 🤣 And I'm also an authortuber myself! I post a lot of different writing and reading related videos, but mostly writing vlogs about the current story I'm working on! 😁

i'm so glad the punctuation tips were helpful! nobody tells you about this stuff when it's time to write a book haha. wishing you success with your book and authortube channel!

okay, you convinced me! idk how, idk what. but i'm gonna start writing again. slowly, but surely. :') hehe also the way you described nia, maybe you could watch 'girlfriends' for some inspo? lol the main characters are v much so black women who are go-getters, but at the same time are portrayed extremely feminine and soft!! the show does it well for smth from the early 2000s imo, anyway! so excited to follow along on your writing journey!! hehe
@itsamina3 ай бұрын
yay!! that's so exciting!! i'm going to need to get some writing updates whenever the juices start flowing!! and i'll definitely check out girlfriends! i feel like i have a lot of black female inspo for noa but i need to be mindful of making sure she doesn't get portrayed in that stereotypical light. thanks for your suggestions jaci and i'm so happy for you 😊
