I can't more agree with you. But I just mean.. The C language asks us sometimes to know detail structure of the system which is useless for non-low-level programmer. But I like C including such things. But really I wanna talk about is, When performance of the program doesn't matter, There are many other good languages better than C. They help programmer consider not structures unimportant to him, but the algorithm of program.

can't agree with you here, sir. It is not subjective, that C is more neat: means less ambigous, less counter-intuitive. Will you ever ask yourself tricky questions about specialization / overloading, or 'why in the hell does operator-- have a parameter'. You can have a perfect knowledge of C, but you can't have one of C++ and even if you do, C++ still makes your life harder by making you cope with crappy syntax and high/low level abstraction mess, than help you doing what you need to.

a slight performance hit against 2x cheaper developement. Trade off is often worth it. Now you can write a good app on C that uses database, it will still be in a waiting state most of the time waiting for database response. No point in that.

I understood. Actually, it is the traits of dynamic languages that may be a reason of troubles. I know some people don't like it. Then, What about Functional PL such as ML? predictable, powerful, and fast enough(comparable to C). Even though they are, you don't need to consider about minor details while you're programming with them. Well, I know. They are not as famous as C. And people tends to treat them as just language for academic purpose. after all, we'll get a conclusion, "write in C".

I don't know where you get that from, but that isn't true. Java is extremely popular in businesses, as it's used in a ton of mobile devices (including the popular mobile OSes iPhone, Android, Blackberry OS, and many more), game consoles, and a lot of other devices and appliances. C# is mainly popular on Microsoft OSes machines, which don't get nearly as much popularity as all the other millions of devices Java uses.

Java is fairly sloppy, but it is definitely not slow, and DEFINITELY not slow for most tasks. Java has one of the best VMs of any JIT compiled language. It is incredibly fast. And since our computers are so fast today, why does it matter anyway? Overhead would be virtually unnoticeable for any case.

if you were to stick with programming C is the parent class of C++. it Inherits most of Cs functionality but adds a whole lot more. the same can be said about C++ and C#
