I took my Visconti Traveling Ink Pot along to Italy filled with SketchINK for the Pineider Avatar TTT Traveller pen I planned to buy in Florence where they are made. It worked out perfectly, and I love my Pineider vacuum-filler!

I am in the middle of humming and hahing over a Pineider Avatar cartridge convertor pen for sketching and general note-taking while out and about. They are lovely pens ...

As far as nib grinding, the only other company that I know will do it is Edison Pen. If you order from them directly, you can ask for the special grind. Sailor would do it as my King of Pen was ground for me. (For a USD 50 fee) I may consider the Pineider ink well for my Avatar Twin Tank Touchdown.

Thanks for that. I'm sure that the inkwell would work perfectly with the Twin Tank, but I do have issues with it when refilling my Indiana Jones and a couple of other pens. Still, it's a very good solution and cost-effective compared with the Visconti! Good luck with the nib grinding. I had my Winstone ground to a medium stub, and it's frankly wonderful. Lovely line variation, a beautiful pen, and a delight to use!

I use 2.5 or 2.6 mm o rings. I cut the them at an angle to help make a plug. Each plug is about a half inch long.

Hi, James - er - really sorry, but not sure I understand you. Do you mean you buy a set of O rings? If so, how much do you cut off? I am guessing you mean you cut them to form a plug when you have them all on the pen's section to prevent leaks? Or do you mean you buy a rubber tube, and cut that to form a ring for the section? And do you carry that with you while you're away? Doesn't that lead to ink getting everywhere when you pull the plug off? Sorry if I'm a bit obtuse!

@@writerlywitterings cut the o ring at angle to help it slide into the opening of the cart. The outside diameter plugs the opening. The plug is only about 3/8 of an inch long, An o ring is solid rubber. I think this may be our problem with having a common language. I'll see if I can find out what the o ring is called in GB. I'm waiting for book three in One Dance Before I Die set. I've enjoyed the first two.

I have problems with Diamine plastic bottles and sample bottles. Alternative are the InkMiser Ink Shot. A plastic conical pot which comes from America at a price, or, cheaper. A glass 5ml conical measure from China via Amazon for around a fiver.

That is really interesting - do you have a weblink you could share for those things? I've not seen either of them.
@juicylouisey3 ай бұрын
@@writerlywitterings I am utterly hopeless with links etc. I have sent you a couple of emails. The 10ml glass is very good too if you have a broader pen. Would you be so kind as to use your expertise to post the links? With these things even of you do spill it is much less ink. I also fill pens on an old toffee tin lid to contain any damage.

Great stuff, this! Huge thanks, John! I'll be getting them incorporated in the next couple of weeks.
