In Canon HF G60, you can set the Function - ON value in the Camera Setup menu, an additional line CP - Custom Picture will appear in the FUNC menu, where you can configure many picture parameters. I think the Canon XF400 also has this feature.

The Sony at 4k 30fps causes motion stuttering when panning, but at 4k 60fps this phenomenon is gone which is why I would go for the CanonXF 400, but you also looking at $900 more, great review as usual, thank you.

Is it me or youtube videos recorded with mirrorless cameras look much sharper than a camcorder, I'm a hobbyist and always use camcorders to this day, I took some footages with a Canon M50 and it seems like at 1080p 60fps the videos look as good as 4k 30, I was impressed.
@MichaelWTurner4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the camcorder I suppose. The xf400 that I used to own had an amazing picture that made it look like a larger sensor camera, but most camcorders have such a small sensor in them that it is hard to compete with the look that you get from something like an m50

I'm curious since the panasonic hc x2000, canon xa 50, and sony hxr nx80 are around the same price range which is best for indoor sports and weddings. I'm also which has best fully auto performance. I'm focus on low light focus and zoom in auto and manual. I could use your expertise. Thanks.
@MichaelWTurner3 жыл бұрын
I haven't used the first two cameras, but I felt that between my nx80 and xf400, the xf400 had much better low light performance. The xa50 is very similar using the same sensor, but a different image processor if I'm not mistaken. However from what I've seen online, the images coming out of the xa50 are very impressive. The panasonic x2000 is only 1/2 inch sensor as opposed to 1 inch, so imagine the low light performance may not be as strong. In reviews that I read on B&h about it, it seems people were disappointed. However, this video on youtube actually looks really good in lowlight. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anfSiZimndx2isk. There's still some noise, but that's to be expected. The image hold together quite well. Unfortunately, you may have to rent one and take it for a whirl. I will say that I think the canon will most likely come out on top. I think...

Great review. I’ve heard the canon 1080 is soft relative to the Sony. Do you shoot anything in 1080 to compare or just stick with the 4K?
@MichaelWTurner Жыл бұрын
I shot mostly in HD with Canon and was very impressed. I don't remember it being soft at all. It was definitely the best image that I've seen out of a camcorder

Michael only a few differences between Sonys...nx 80 and z90. Worth the Xtra 500 for 10bit,sdi and streaming. The nx 80 is 2.4 g and Sony is 2.4-5. Seem identical other that that image quality wise

My camecorder sony HDXR -NX80 doesn't accept Sandisk memeory card extreme pro sdxc 170MB/s for recording 4K, is anything wrong with the camescope?

Looks like the auto mode is working for you. Didn't notice any focus issues, but then again, that's one of the big things Canon is known for. Great to hear the Sony has options to customize the color matrix and gamma curve, although I suspect I would leave it at factory spec since the colors on my AX100 seem to be pretty accurate as-is with a proper white-balance.
@MichaelWTurner5 жыл бұрын
Only thing was very mild color shifting due to the auto white balance but it was very gradual which I don't mind. Thanks for the comment btw

Not at all. I've had both shooting 4k video for over an hour with no overheating issues. In general, I have never had any overheating issues with any camcorders.

There video specific cameras, why would they over heat? That's there job to stay on for a long time, they even come with power supplies for that very purpose.
