Success in life can be achieved in multiple ways. It varies from person to person and mostly depends upon one’s perception of success and how far would one go to achieve it. While the majority of people believe that success purely depends upon hard work, others believe that success can be achieved depending on various social circumstances. This essay will strongly argue that success can be achieved by hard work rather than social circumstances. Majority of the successful people in the world have achieved success purely by working hard for it. Famous personalities including Steve Jobs, Priyanka Chopra, and Selena Gomez have achieved success mainly by working hard, as the social circumstances that they were born into did not favour them. Another example could be of Bill Gates, who was not born into favourable circumstances but worked his way up only through sheer hard work to achieve success. The phrase “There is no substitute for hard work” strongly supports this idea. The idea of hard work being the only key to success can be strongly supported by these real-life examples, and therefore, I believe that success can be achieved by hard work rather and does not depend on various social circumstances.

Success is a controversial word that raises many questions. While many people argue that success is achieved by hard work, others think it's mainly influenced by social circumstances. This essay will discuss why success is determined by social status that people were born into. The socio-economic situation that a person was born into is a major reason for being successful. People who were born with a high economy and good social support can easily have the opportunities for further accomplishments. For instance, rich families are likely to own big companies which are labeled by success. The circumstances around individuals can determine the extent of one’s success. Working hard does not necessarily guarantee success. Hard work is not always rewarding as many people think, in fact it can be the opposite. For example, people can work hard through their lives in a dead-end job that pays minimum wage, achieving nothing in life. There are various factors In order to be successful, but working hard is not always the case. In conclusion, Social and economic status is the major factor that affects people's success. In my opinion, many people are defined as successful only because they are lucky enough to be born rich.

Been watching your videos. It helped me a lot. Took PTE the third time yesterday, and still not happy with the result. My scores are going up and down. First, I struggled with oral fluency. Did a lot of practise on that. When I finally got the desired score in speaking, my writing went down. I’m only short by 1 point. I’m thinking of asking a rescore. But, I heard it’s not worth the try.

Instructions ask to discuss both points. You clearly discussed hard work and briefly mention social circumstances. Is this the correct way to approach an opinion essay with two points of view? I thought that the way to write this would be: one paragraph for the social environment and one (a little larger) for hard work.

When we decide to choose one side A and support that view point and say This essay will discuss ..(Side A)....., can the other side B be used in Second Paragraph. Because we already wrote Side A in statement This essay will discuss (Side A)..
