It’s crazy how good plugins have gotten at this point and how fast you can write something that sounds massive. Kit sounds sick!
@InVerum5 күн бұрын
I mean, think about it. These 'e-kits' are using samples from amazing drummers, on sick drums, often recorded by the pros who are producing the best records in the industry right now (cough *Nolly* cough). So like... Yeah. At the end of the day you're slopping a sample in that realistically is better than anything you'd be able to record yourself even with access to top of the line gear/studio. I imagine we reach a world where very few people are actually recording drums beyond scratch takes any more (unless you're a massive band). Just no reason to for 90% of bands these days.

If you didn't know already, Logic has a low latency mode that will bypass and plugins causing latency on any track with input monitoring enabled. It's under the Record tab on the top toolbar. Great stuff as always!
@nickbroomhallmusic6 күн бұрын
Low latency mode is nice sometimes but a lot of the time it bypasses some plugins on my busses that I wanted to keep on
@808berg5 күн бұрын
@@nickbroomhallmusic If you click the dropdown for your send, there should be an option that says "low latency safe", which should allow the plugins on that bus to function in low latency mode. It'll be on the track you're sending to the bus, not on the bus itself, if that makes sense

Awesome tune as always bruh. A tip for beginners, keep the sustain on the bassdrum, snare and toms short. The sound gets more pop, and it won't bleed into the other instruments. Keep it tight if you are doing metal.

Drum plugins are just insane nowadays, you can route and mix exactly like you would a live set which is so cool, natural spill is there too which sometimes makes it hard to not know they are programmed. Musicians today are so lucky. MIDI drums used to suck so bad

Just a tip from a bassist: next time you're writing a bass part, don't just mirror the root from the guitar. The natural pair of the bass guitar is the bass drum. Write a part that matches the rhythmic timing of the kick but harmonizes with the guitar part. You'll be shocked at how hard it hits.

Hey bro, I love your content but I do have a question. Im looking to start recording at home on my mac and Ive seen you use Get Good Drums, RS Drums and now with Mix Wave. What drum pack product or company would you recommend for the beginner? I'm more interested in quality of sound and ease of use. (I'm a hard rock/heavy metal/metalcore guy if that helps) Thanks Nick

In my experience, mixwave libraries are easier to work with and they sound pretty awesome with minimal tweaks, but if you’re willing to put it extra work in the mix GGD can sound absolutely MASSIVE. Out of the box GGD is a little underwhelming but if you know what you’re doing they’re awesome. You really can’t go wrong with the quality of plugins nowadays

People have forgotten what the word “insane“ means. It means without sanity… I realize you need a good thumbnail and click bait, but can you just use something original? People are looking for authenticity more than anything else… And over using words like “ insane, amazing, unreal” have lost their meaning.
