I like David's attitude and ambition. He truly cares about giving the reader an experience as well as producing his book or writing content how he enjoys it. I understand if some author just want to write, but I believe they miss out on the opportunity to expand their business by adding companion books, merch, and relatable material in addition to their books. I like to cover my shelves with maps, sculptures, and related material to immerse myself into what I'm reading.

Joanna, thanks for sharing your interview with David. Very exciting to hear about the enterprising stuff he's up to. Truly, direct sales is the future for indie authors.

This is probably one of my favorite episodes. HIs focus on just connecting directly with his audience and even 'unsubscribing' people going directly to Amazon is just inspiring. It really got my creative juices going on how I can connect with my audience better and create that community. I see some of his advice helping me go full-time some day!

Great industry info and a very interesting interview. As someone who's had a taste of the Kindle void, the direct route with creative products slant and providing an experience for readers gives me hope!
