Hey man, I left a comment on this video almost 3 years ago now, and I still come back to it sometimes because this is honestly one of if not the best just straight up guides out there. The layers u made in this video are incredible and I use it to brainstorm all the time. Just thought I'd let you know that something you made 3 years ago is still having an impact on me now.

Might sound silly or trivial, but try adding the word 'tutorial' to your video post titles. You've got great content, you're talented and you explain things well. You should have more views!

good job. where did you get the breaktweaker sample pack?
@Michael_Lak6 жыл бұрын
Wow thankyou, I learnt so much. That high pitched lead at the end really bought the track to life. Subscribed. The thing that worries me though is the fact that you were always searching for the sound in your head for the particular part. I have no such "talent".
@RyanDevenney6 жыл бұрын
Yeah that bothers me too, hearing parts and sounds in your head and bringing it to life is something that takes a while to get to and I just don't know how to describe what I'm thinking. It definitely gets easier with practice but I understand it can be frustrating to not get it explained 100% :(

I had the same issue with the automatic fades. If you go to Preferences > Record Warp Launch and then unselect "Create Fades on Clip Edges" it will stop doing this. I was wondering where all my transients went. Not sure why Ableton decided to make this default. Really damn good tutorial by the way!

Hey Ryan - I'm just learning production and was wondering if you could help me understand why you: A) Used 128bpm instead of 140 -160 half time? ...and B) Used the side-chain instead of LFOTool for the tremolo effect?
@RyanDevenney5 жыл бұрын

this is awesome. Im new to producing, whats that serum thingy hes using? not sure how plug ins work yet
@RyanDevenney6 жыл бұрын
Hey man! A plugin is something that "plugs into" your DAW so you can have more features/tools than what it originally came with. Serum is arguably one of the best synth plugins on the market and I use it for about everything!
@melandbelle896 жыл бұрын
Sorry for a nooby question but do you use serum because it’s just more in depth or is there no other way to generate those synthy sounds directly from abelton?
@RyanDevenney6 жыл бұрын
There's tons of ways to make the sounds! Most synths are capable of getting close to the exact same sounds it's just about the workflow/layout/etc. I just happen to like Serum the best!!

1:14. I know. I swear, sub frequencies don’t have a peak to him. He can just turn them up forever without interference or distortion. Like, listen to his Reece metallic growls…like. Even if you know how to make em…tryna fit a sub along side it, even if you cut the frequencies out of everything, track space everything to the point that it lacks a soul, and soft clip to the point or ear rape…than eq cut again. The fffukign sub just ain’t au5 tier. Like, for all you FL users. Listen to a demo song. Than drag an au5 song into that project and compare by muting the master. Au5 makes those tracks sound like geometry dash. It’s brutal.
