I did absolutely the same: I got so stuck on revising my manuscript, I had to start something else and it helped me take some emotional distance from my initial project. I'm with you on getting back into the story when I sit down to write. Especially if I'm really into a book or show and my mind keeps wandering to that. It's so cool you're working on a project just for you. I write ya paranormal, but I have a contemporary romance book I work on for fun. It's nice to stretch outside of that writing comfort zone.

exactly! finding focus for me can be so hard sometimes. i live with my husband and he's a yapper so he's always coming in and chatting with me in the middle of my writing sessions which throws me off even more haha but all writing is progress and i'm glad you have a fun project you get to work on for yourself

@@beccatobar my husband does that too! 🤣 And my desk is in the open dining room so there's no separation. Focus is super hard for me too. I'm most productive when I write at a coffee shop though! That's my high focus spot.
