Can you explain when to use infinitive as adjective and the difference with the regular adjective words ? Thank you so much!
@WritingBetter7 ай бұрын
This video is discussing infinitive phrases. They can be used as an adjective: Let me show you the best way to paint a flower.(“to paint a flower” describes the word “way”) In general, regular adjectives are made up of one word. Is this what you are asking about?

To eat during the movie,Carol is bringing popcorn. In here does it work as adverbial/adjectival ?? I'm pretty confused ma'm
@WritingBetter8 ай бұрын
In this sentence, “to eat during the movie” is describing the popcorn (which is a noun), so this would be an adjectival infinitive phrase. You could write the sentence in this way: Carol is bringing popcorn that she could eat during the movie.

Madam, please upload a lecture on Abstract Essay.
@WritingBetter Жыл бұрын
Are you referring to an Abstract that is written for a research paper that summarizes the content of the paper?
@noorhussain1829 Жыл бұрын
@@WritingBetter Madam, I am talking about the abstract essay which is a sub-type of Persuasive essay that is written in the English essay exam, for example, the Essay Topic is: "Instruction to youth is like engraving on stone" and we have to write an essay of 2500-3000 words with an outline, etc all these things. I am not talking about the research paper.
@WritingBetter Жыл бұрын
Thank you for clarifying. I think you are saying that you would like a video about writing a persuasive essay about abstract ideas or topics. I’ll put that idea on my list for future videos.

Yes, it can act as a direct object. Example: I have to take an exam tomorrow. (“to take an exam”=direct object)

@@WritingBetter what is the deference between direct object and indirect object please
@WritingBetter10 ай бұрын
A direct object is the person or thing that directly receives the action or effect of the verb. It answers the question "what" or "whom." An indirect object answers the question "for what," "of what," "to what," "for whom," "of whom," or "to whom" and accompanies a direct object. (britannica.com)

Hello , i have some doubt .. i feel adjective and adverb similar For example, "He took some sleeping pills to sleep," here "to sleep," acting as adverb .. But if i ask myself, " he took what ? Sleeping pills to sleep. to sleep, act as adjective here I'm confused. Please clarify.
@WritingBetter4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. I am sorry for the confusion. This was probably not a good example to use. He took some pills to sleep. Why did he take some pills? To sleep. But, I would agree that you could also ask, He took what to sleep? some pills. I think the example was not a good clear example and so it has caused confusion. I hope you found the rest of the video helpful.
