It's pretty obvious when an INTP likes you. They get overwhelmed with emotions

"I want to talk to somebody who only talks to me 1-2 per week" - very interesting but that would be very hard for me to deal with as an infj

how often would an infj need to talk then?

@@intpvamp I can only speak for myself as a true male infj, but I want a lot of intimacy and communication. A lot for me would probably be too exhausting for an intp. And vice versa a lot for an intp would probably not be enough for me. I do admire intp's in many ways though

I'm an ENTP. It's very interesting hearing the similarities. Particularly about freedom I think that's a value the two types share. However, your mini rant about narcissists, and this may be cultural, but I find people who ask questions to be very rude and pushy. If I want to tell someone something, I will tell them. That's freedom to me. Being in control of the information I'm putting out. So I tend to extend the same courtesy to other people. I will wait for them to choose what they want to tell me and then I will ask them questions about their chosen subject. If she's saying nothing about herself, I assume she has either nothing interesting to say or she's not interested in impressing me.

@@intpvamp Yeah I agree, I mean I am. Boundaries are huge for ENTP's. We hate not knowing where people's boundaries are. Something I've observed about very introverted people; you need to ask questions as if to give them permission to speak. Extroverts naturally feel the opposite. Put two extroverts together and it can feel like a fight to see who can say the most words. They'll start talking over each other. It can be hard for extroverts to switch communication styles or be mindful that other people's brains work differently. Especially if they're nervous!

Isn't what you're saying true for women in general? But I noticed you said you view the guy as incompetent if he talks about past trauma without mentioning how he overcame it or what he learned from it. I guess that is the difference. Other women would think he is weak.
@intpvamp

some feeler women are attracted to traumatized men as they want to heal them. I'm just saying it takes me a long time to feel empathy for a person. i don't feel empathy for any strangers. the person has to be in a close circle for a long time for me to be able to feel empathy for them. i was just talking about the first impression. also telling people they just met about their traumatic events to manipulate others is a trait of a sociopath.

I don't get it. What kind of "shaming" is used to hit on women? Is it something like "you should be married by now"? Please give examples. INTP here, btw :)
@intpvamp

for example if a woman dances, and a guy tells her that she shouldn't do it becuz it makes her look like a ho or something. even if it wasn't a sexy kind of dance. or a guy can give comments about her outfit and ask her what her intention of wearing skirt was or something like that. 'women shouldn't do this or women should act this way' all can be included

It's a cultural difference, I'm from South America and interacted with many East asians in Japan, they definetely do try to "shame" you as a way for I guess showing "care" by trying to "fix" you to make sure you can be an ideal partner. I was once told to not be too friendly to everyone, which just sounds weird to me... As I'm an INTP, and I was considered too introverted back in my country.

As an INFJ, I noticed most of my male friends are INTPs. So I can spot male INTPs but female INTPs are a challenge. As for women, I noticed I attract INFPs, INFJs, and ENFJs the most.
