I bought a 16x a little over a month ago. HOLY FLYING CARPETS BATMAN, if a Time machine existed to eliminate my 2nd marriage, next to I would buy one of these in 2016. What a blast. As a teenager (50yrold), tearing up the town on a bmx, this is So much better and I cannot wait to go back to the old neighborhood and tear it up! The price, well how much is a new motorcycle? Dirt bike? Off road bicycle? And don’t forget it goes anywhere with you. Back seat or in the work van is Where my lives when not in use. This is worth every single penny on the fun meter…Eyeing that Veteran as my next one already- Hoping it’s “Sailor Proof”! My new panels are sitting in the box ready for replacement. It took a shower of beatings while I learned. If I had Fell, head over heels - up to 4 in a row, 5-? Times, No way I would be at 100% performance like this little wheel, Duct tape and ride on!!!!!

Got mine, learnt riding in 1.5 hrs, and been on it since mid January as my 1st wheel. Now 1500km. I can confirm all in this video, except backwards riding.. lol. well some day... Best thing I ever did, get this wheel. as you said, you dont want to get off it. Its versatile mostly everywhere. I use it for everything in daily life too. Just sad the grocery shops are too close. I always look for the furthest away. haha. Superb video! thanks.

So, does it throw you off balance at all carrying grocery bags?
@MikieSWE2 жыл бұрын
@@alvaro1121 IF its very windy and you have light groceries, like chips, and marshmallows, in the bags, yes!. Usually you have like 5-10 kg (20+ lb) in each bag, so the wind wont affect to much. If keep one bag in front and other back, it makes a line that wind do not affect you so much. Start, turn, and sudden stops affects more, so careful riding pays off. Keep away from hazards and its a win. Slow learn, and go from there. I have been riding in almost storm conditions, and its, well, a bit informative, but not so successful. Normal winds are ok. Those delivery guys out there on EUC's are the champs. They ride in any conditions ;-)

Awesome review! as always. This was my 2nd wheel, just 1 week after after learning with a KS14D. I think I fell in love with EUCs because of the amazing riding feel of 16X. But yes, the low top speed very quickly becomes a real limitation, furthermore, the App-indicated speed is inflated quite a bit (by about 5 km/h compared to GPS speed: I get the 50 km/h tilt back consistently at 44-45 km/h GPS, which sucks!). Ordered a couple of new GWs for that reason.
@shoakman4 жыл бұрын
Which GW did you get. Ive been reading the 16x is more of a 25mph wheel and has cutout risks above 26
@nunofontes97754 жыл бұрын
Andy Chen , I bought the MSP High-Speed version which I absolutely love, rides very similar to the 16 X, great maneuverability, same weight as 16X despite bigger wheel, and its crazy fast, lift spin cutoff is 61mph, (98 km/h), you can safely ride at 45 mph down to 50% battery, I already crashed it at 35 mph, but was wearing full gear so no injuries but could have been ugly without protection. The other wheel as a V3 monster which I also like, but today I would have gone for the veteran Sherman instead of the Monster.

Here is detail analyse About Firmwares and performance KS16X to date 13.5.2020. I'll simplify it for impatient good results will give you the firmware with which your KS16X came from production. Don't fix what's not broken. For curious riders, here is an analysis: In the background, I bought a KS16X second batch made on August 10, 2019 with a motherboard 1.4 and firmware 1.05 pre-installed from the factory(and i aplicate bluetooth patch). I also have a 1.5 motherboard made on March 7, 2020. I want to share with you the results I have tested for many hours of measuring LOG file analysis and acceleration tests with various Firmware and pedal settings. I've been working on it for over a week. Before I begin, I would like to thank Kingsong's amazing decision to allow the FW to be modified in specific cases for customer satisfaction. I really appreciate that, and Kingsong has risen to the top of the EUC segment. I really hope that the kingsong will not change and will remain at the forefront. Now to the most important thing that escaped almost everyone's fingers. The firmware behaves fundamentally differently in connection with the 1.4 VS 1.5 motherboard with which the KS16X is equipped. How do I know which control/mainboard I have a board? Just open the case and look. Or it can be found out from the serial number, in it the date for me was 190810 (v1.4) and the new background board is 200307 (v1.5). And the crucial date is September 9, 2019, when the motherboard v1.5 went into serial production. (this is date i found if somebody can confirm i be happy) Or easy way is if you stock Firmware was 1.07 you have propably mainboard v1.5 I wanted to think of it with tables, graphs and scientifically, but there was so much that I would just write it here with a sentence. Result For the KS16X with the v1.4 motherboard, the best firmware results are 1.05. FW 1.07 is also very good and usable, it is a matter of taste, but from a practical point of view 1.07 prevails with its benefits. If you want RAW power, take 1.05. If you prefer longer rides at higher speeds, take FW 1.07 Result For KS16X with motherboard v1.5 gives the best results firmware 1.07 or even FW based on it which is probably also 2.02 is also very good and usable but I have heard all too often caution overpower or 4 beeps even in situations and loads where other FW were silent even with the same Amperes and POWER checked according to the EUCWORLD LOG. It makes no sense to install FW 1.05 on the motherboard v1.5, you will not get any measurable benefit even in the braking distance of acceleration by nothing. I'm sure it's a safe FW 1.05 even on v1.5 but it doesn't fit the hardware as well as 1.07. supershort: MB v1.4 best fw 1.05 because braking, offroad, aceleration, 0 to 40 RAW feel. MB v1.4 FW 1.07 very adult FW for some riders i imagine can be beter with compare 1.05(not RAW is smooth feel) MB v1.5 if you install 1.05 is definetly downgrade keep FW 1.07(and propably newer FW) for best results no discusion here is just tested fact. Mainboard v1.4 vs v1.5 have diferent pedal hardnes/stiff v1.5 on same FW 1.07 is mutch harder compare to 1.4 same FW 1.07 After testing all Firmware on v1.4 as well as on v1.5 I personally kept v1.5 and FW 1.07 If I kept the mainboard 1.4 I would stay on fw 1.05 I was satisfied (and v1.5 + 1.07 is very close to v1.4 + FW1.05). I changed the 1.4 motherboard because it showed me a temperature of minus 16 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This may also be the reason why some riders had falls, perhaps because their motherboards did not report the temperature badly and then CUTOUT / OVERLEAN due to overheating. KS and the people thought it was Firmware. Check the temperatures at rest! I tracked the values through the Eucworld app lessons for all let's respect beeps and hardware revisions. I wish you all many happy miles on the KS16X. And I hope I've already fixed the confusion over this topic. And urban legends can remain in books and not in our heads.

Like to see what's it like to walk a pet/dog while on a euc. Maybe what type of work you could use as a euc. 2 people moving a long ladder while both are on euc's. The possibilities of pushing a wheel barrel up a hill. Anyways.....your good at reverse. My peddle broke due to the pressure in the middle of the peddle, from turning hard and scraping the outside edge of the peddle quite often. Inmotion peddles sold separately. Took pics. So I think the height plays a big part when using large peddles. You do not want to scrape the outside edge of your peddle when turning hard which causes pressure in the middle of that peddle to break from the inside hendge/axle that connected to your euc. $100+ peddles down the drain. After 1 year use of course. And it broke when I crossed this 2 foot wide concrete drain dip on the side of the road, in diagonal, and the peddle scraped the edge. Good thing I have my original peddles. Keep up the good work. Wrong Way!

The only downside I found in this particular EUC (and 16XS - same shell) is the fender: too weak, even if you're careful. You run over some gravel, it'll eventually get kinda "stuck" (being "kicked") between the wheel and the fender. Over time, it'll literally *cut* the fender off... So guys, avoid going too fast over gravel while riding this EUC - and even at low speeds, after going over gravel, make sure to "shake" it a little bit, just to be sure, hehe...

Hi Wrong Way, after buying a Inmotion V8, I sold my expensive Inokim OX Super because I rather prefer roding an EUC. The V8 is a super wheel but I want to upgrade. What I do like about inmotion is the quality, the headlight and it charges quick. Now I please want your advice. A ninebot Z10, a inmotion V10F, a Gotway Msuperx, Gotway Tesla V2 or this kingsong 16x. The V8 is limited to 25km/u and by the app you can unlock it to 30 but to be honest, I never tried because I am afraid it would waren me and just switch off or no tilt back. I love the smooth tilt back of the V8 at 25km/u. I want to go a bit faster and a Some extra range but important is the comfort. Mostly I am riding on the street and now and then a gravel road. What is your opinion please. Best regards of a huge fan. Wim

Hello, how are you, excellent video, you can see that you enjoy your wheels a lot, I have a question, I am a heavy user of 110 kg and I learned a 14 d which cut me off and shot me, well normal since it is a lot of weight for the wheel that is small and I was thinking between the Kingston 16X, 18 L and the 18 XL I think the difference between these two is only the battery, right? Could the fact that the XL's battery is larger prevent it from being low and I demand a little more from it to be more sure that it doesn't cut me off? Now I was looking at the kidston 18S but I'm not much off road, I'm more of a city. Is it worth making the investment for the Kingston 18S? Does this wheel require more maintenance and care? What can you say to me? Thanks in advance and a big hug.

About speed it doesnt seem totally correct, at lower batteries yes it will throttle speed but before that stage I have no problem reaching 50kph very quickly before the tiltback which isnt too threatening for me. And it wouldnt give me any overpower alarms so far at that speed. I ride with a friend with msx v2 in really fast speeds and after 53km of riding 16x would have 43% battery left and msx would have 24%. Strangely at high speeds 45~50kph this wheel feels even more stable than msx.

Great review, great music choice, love my 16x

On the KS16X did you have the pedals set to hard? I only ride on hard on my 16X. When I accelerate it stays flat. I’ve never had that issue with the medals moving around like that. I could also just be lighter than you.

Yeah, always hard :) it is like that during stfessing it really hard

Wrong Way! Yeah I’m an aggressive rider but I’m also lighter so that could be it for me. Still loved the video. Always great videos 🤙🏽

Maybe they need to put an option on the app for input of rider weight so the firmware could be adjusted to suit different riders

Great review but being an e-scooter rider...it just confirms I dont want a unicycle. Maybe I am wrong and willing to be persuaded but it constantly looks like the rider is always trying to stay balanced! How is that fun?
@Phongvu25084 жыл бұрын
it the same as you stay balanced on your scooter or bicycle :) unless your scooter has 3 wheels :D

@@Phongvu2508 Really? I mean they look totally cool but it seems like everyone has their arms out and they are worried they will fall. I am going to test ride on this week so apologies for being negative! Love the channel!

@@wozzawarren Unless you're at very low speeds, it's pretty much 0 effort to stay on under smooth conditions. At those low speeds, yes you are constantly trying to stay on, however as a reward you have much higher potential for control and agility than a scooter. You're not going to like it at first, but stick with it and you'll understand what the fuss is about

Balance, at speed, is almost effortless. A lot of times, I have my hands in my pockets. At very low speeds, under 5 mph, the wheel needs more balance attention. I think these guys have a least one arm/hand out to hold the camera stick! One thing, these wheels do increase one's balance over all. EUC's are incredibly fun. Roads, trails, city streets, bike paths, then into (before corona): shops, libraries, restaurants, then to riding busses, trains. I hardly drive a car anymore. Peace...Guy

@@yuginoty65 well, as I said, it also true for bicycle :) if you try to ride the bicycle super slow, I also need a lot of effort to stay balanced.

Sign the wheel before you send it back. It will be a collector's item. After watching soo many videos, I am still no closer to a decision. I think that the market still has to settle down towards a good all-rounder. How much extra to have genuine carbon fiber panels, for instance? And why use inferior fastenings? Surely the cost savings cannot be that great. Instrumentation could have a horizantal detector and/or solid state gyroscope, so that the wheel knows the true angle of the pedals to the horizon. The tilt-back could be controlled by a PID controller that can be programmed. They could include super capacitor to absorb surges in current when braking or fast acceleration. On to the 18" wheels.

Długo się czaiłem bo chciałem go sprzedać jeszcze 1,5 lata temu kiedy spokojnie by poszedł za 6500. Kółko ma 2000 km przebiegu, NyloNove i brak problemów. Jest w Warszawie, jeśli ktoś chce można do mnie napisać tu. Cena 5K. Dziś 19 październik 2024. Albo na MEP jako El Ectro

16x, 18xl, s18 recommendation for a 225lb man?

Both are capable carrying your weight with ez.. You should ask your self what kind a riding you want to do? Off-road? City? Either one is a good choice. I like 18xl personally

Phenomenal review! I'm currently on my first wheel, Inmotion V8F, and in between KS16X and the KS S18. Obviously you can't know for sure until you ride the latter, but what are your thoughts on the different specializations between the two?
