The best point of the EUC for me: Integration with public transport. There's simply no other vehicle that I can take with me in a train or a bus as easily as the EUC. It's the perfect "Last mile" vehicle. You can even use it as a portable chair when train is full. =D
@frederickoparah16694 жыл бұрын
Exactly, im a massive scooter fan but you just cant beat the EUC, on public transport or entering shops.

You don't integrate with motorcycle gear on a train with An dingy wheel tbh
@Lucaslfm14 жыл бұрын
@@godless9010 I don't need a high speed/long range wheel since the main part of the commute is done by train, my v8 is more than enough. I don't wear any protective gear as well, since I don't need to go over 35km/h. Any how, it would still be easier to commute in train with a V-Sherman and bike gear than with a E-bike or Scooter. I'm looking toward to get a V11 with a seat, It's so tall, would be great to use as a chair in the train =D.

The only problem with euc’s are the significantly higher price point to entry vs a scooter. A nine or max can be had for $800 with a range of 24 miles at max speed, or even a high powered 60v 30ah Samsung powered scooter can be bought off of alibaba for $1400. Eucs start above that price point for the most part and the learning curve is much much higher. You can pass a scooter off to anyone and they will be up and riding in 5 seconds. The mastery of learning to ride an euc is where the risk/reward is at.

Being a motorcyclist for 60+ years, I wish I could have one, but now can'i afford a fall. I really envy you younger people. What a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and urban transportation. I honestly don't believe they are viable on unprotected roadways, like unlit roadways at night. Very informative, well presented (as expected) - I particularly like the emphasis on developing your own exoskeleton - even with experience you will part company with the vehicle from time to time and you want to bounce, not crash. I think it helps to know how to fall, and I think you pick that up early or not at all. With me it was sports like skiing and soccer ("football" in EU, but even American football helps). Something like gymnastics or martial arts would be excellent. You seldom have the time to think or plan your landing, so it has to become instinct.

I had ks-14d which weights ~14kg and put neoprene pads following Kuji guide in "How to jump with any electric unicycle", I was able to hop on 23cm curb every time (watch Sidestreet Reny for ks-14 tricks, he is really in to jumping), after 2500km I turned it and got ks-16s v2, which I really love, I learned to idle and reverse with it, it weights 17kg and I can travel 20-30 km not getting too tired, i glued some eva pads and able to jump on 33cm curb like 9/10 times now if I'm not too tired, that's my physical limit - I weight around 70kg and do more sitting (coding) then walking.

It's actually bad advice to wear wrist guards if you have bad or awkward slam you can actually end up with worse breaks that take longer to heal gloves with leather inside the palms would be better. I've played ice hockey and been a aggressive inline skater for a couple of decades also mx rider so have some experience with bad and awkward falls haha. I've seen some real bad breaks and fractures that wouldn't of been as bad if wrist guards had not been used, not to mention when you land on wrist guards they slide too fast so it's quite common to put both hands down and your hands slide apart wide and you slam your face. This wouldn't happen with gloves with some material protection indise the palm instead of hard plastic etc. 🤙

Which EUC were you riding in this video? There are so many qualities and cons with each EUC, I can't decide which one to get. But I do like the foot stoppers on the one you are riding, and the sharp turning radius it appears to have, without peddle bite. Edit: Never mind, looks like the Inmotion V11. I didn't know you could add those foot stoppers to it. That certainly helps narrow down my choice. Early videos I saw of it, it looked and sounded like it was difficult to speed up on or to jump with because of a lack of contact and grip with the device. Doesn't seem like an issue with those. I just wish it had a speedometer and odometer without needing to use an app. Otherwise, it might be perfect.

1. Either use Slime which with some luck fixes it or you need to change the tube. Depending on the wheel and your skills this is a 20-120 minutes job. KZbin is your friend on how-to. 2. I bought some gear 6 years ago and used some of it maybe a few times. I haven't been wearing any gear since in more than 20,000km of riding (same for cycling). I have taught quite a bunch of people without using any gear. Learning to keep your knees flexed and how to let go and step off rather than be sent flying when something goes wrong is more important than any gear. However, if you want to ride the EUC like a motorcycle or above 25km/h, I guess you better keep using gear.
