Jacobo Lopez The Evos competitor isn't the WRX though. The main competition for the Evo is an STi. Stock Evo Vs Stock WRX - Evo Wins. Stock Evo Vs Modded WRX - Pretty even. I'd have a Subie as a daily (already do...) and an EVO track car. Though, if I built a Rally car, I'd have to go Subaru. It's always been the quintessential Rally car in my eyes. I do really miss the good old days of Mitsubishi and Subaru battling out in the dirt. Too bad the Evo is dead, so it's doubtful we'll ever see that happen on a manufacturer sponsored level.

XW or XY, only real difference between them is grill and tail lights. My uncle had 2 of them, a gold XY with the 250 I6 , and a silver XW with the 351 V8, he did them both up to be GT replicas (Cosmetically anyway), beautiful cars, both moved on to new owners.

Interesting comparison... Even modded the WRX has a lot of trouble against the Stock Evo X. Would love to see Marty and Moog do the same test with a stock Evo 5 or 6 (Makinen even) against Moogs WRX... me thinks the WRX would struggle quite a lot more... Because back in the day, only a small few liked and even dared to own them. Now every ricer, plastic mechanic and youtube wannabe owns them, the majority of whom can’t handle it. So they make them weaker and weaker. The EJ20 and EJ25 Are a perfect example. Half a litre difference yet the EJ20 shits all ofer it when it’s done right. Sad really.

If they were both stock, the Evo would have won. The Evo would have probably edged out a stock STi. Stock Rexies are great daily drivers, but they're nowhere near as track-capable as the Evo.

I would like to point out to you that, with a Formula 1 driver driving, the Evo X lost to the STI on Top Gear. Noff said... stock for stock, the STI would win. However, the WRX definitely had the disadvantage and still won... so...

the Evo x also had 6 speed while the WRX was limited a little by the 5 speed. would have been a little better if both had autos or both were manuals. I don't know the gearing each of these have, either, and that would affect the straightaway speed and acceleration.

+TEETEE BIRD actually I'd buy a wrx before a evo any day but if I was rich n could afford to mod a older generation evo maybe I'd change my mind. gotta admit the 2fast 2 furious evo with Nos n like every mod you could want was pretty cool. just something about the 10 that just isn't as good. as for the video it's like they are comparing apples to oranges. they are both good but can't compare them equally on a track when a moded car of any kind should out perform a stock car of the same class. u have to remember it's a wrx not the sti so the mods only make it a fair battle since the stock wrx is not meant at all for the track and only has 265 hp where the evo sits at 290hp

G D ya my grandmas 2011 forester only made it to 67,000 before the head gaskets went and were mixing coolant with the oil. I'd love an sti but I'll stick with my eyes set on a evo.

Dan Sasala the WRX isn't the same class as the Evo, the STi is the Evo equivalent so a modded WRX is a pretty good comparison.
