Thanks for the footage, it’s been over half a year and I thought I wouldn’t cry seeing this but here eye am crying seeing where the tornado passes by and hits my home and parents home, the home of friends and neighbors.. Nature truly humbles me. I want to call this tornado a monster, but it’s such a beautiful sight and yet deadly as well.. cleaning Earth’s surface, polishing it just what nature does. All we can do is our best and hope not to be taken by it. Sirens were not heard. People still till today didn’t get enough help. My hometown will never be the same. What we do know is how big of a heart this town and its surroundings got.. all the help from strangers we got. I’m still crying as I type this. I don’t know them strangers but I will forever be grateful for them who came for weeks just to help the needed. I love you all for that. 💙

omg, it hit your house? a debris field was visible from my backyard last year during a tornado which ripped through our community, I saw things in the air that should never be in the air. The things I found in my yard in the aftermath, were insulation, light fixtures (indoor and outdoor), wood splinters, outdoor furniture pieces, and other clues that homes were ripped apart. I hope you have fully recovered from the destruction my friend!!!

Your words are incredibly powerful and moving. The mix of emotions you’re feeling-gratitude, sorrow, awe-comes through so clearly. It’s heartbreaking to think of the devastation that tornadoes can cause, especially when it hits so close to home, affecting your family, friends, and neighbors. Yet, there’s also something profound in how you describe the beauty and power of nature, even in its most destructive moments. The way your community and strangers came together to help in the aftermath speaks volumes about the resilience and kindness of people. It’s in these darkest times that the light of human compassion shines the brightest. Your hometown may never be the same, but the love and support you’ve experienced will always be a part of its story. Thank you for sharing this deeply personal experience. It’s a reminder of how fragile life is and how important it is to come together when disaster strikes. My thoughts are with you and your community as you continue to rebuild and heal.

I was watching Ryan's feed when this happened. My family, some of my cousins from my dad's side lived in Perryton. My granny's buried there. I was in tears watching this happen. It hit downtown and did some serious damage. I remember hanging out there as a kid in the 60s and 70s and it was hard to watch it happen from 800 miles away. You did a great job watching it, thanks for posting this one.

I really don’t believe it’s as much about helping others as it is a form of extreme sport for these people. The adrenaline getting so close to a tornado. They can try to say it’s to help others but I’m not buying it. Not saying they don’t want to help people, I’m just saying that’s secondary to why they are doing it.

it's still very rare for any towns or villages to be struck, let alone a major town or city. In all reality it probably is cheaper to just put up new powerlines. Those are one of the easier pieces of infrastructure to reconstruct. Digging meanwhile takes a long time and requires more expensive equipment and tools.

These men and women who chose this life path are literally filming and documenting nature in all its wrath for generations to come. Wouldn't you like to know that your life risking photography and insights could be shown and used in the future to anyone or even used by weather organizations and scientific communities who study how these acts of nature occur and better help people save lives and stay informed and vigilant? The part of the street view I checked coincides with the map in this video at 6:12 moving forward, which happened to be where many trailer homes were. I grew up hearing that trailer homes are not as safe as others in tornadoes.

you call tell by the tornado knocking out power lines flashing blue lights, this is a violent one, looks to be atleast EF3 or even EF4 potency, in the worst possible place too.

Then a few days later, another tornado almost wiped the entire town of Matador, Texas, off the map. The panhandle of Texas surrounded these two communities.

3:40 it’s crazy to me because in Washington state, these clouds I see on a typical rainy day to day basis. Of course we don’t see rotation or experience hail very often. My husband is from Texas and it took him a while to recognize that the weather looks a lot worse here than it is. Crazy that this would be concerning in other states compared to here.

Hey guys, I have been binge watching storm chasers and i have learned two words so far regarding tornadoes: 1. Rope - The actual tornado connecting to the ground 2. Inflow - The air that works like a vacuum created by the tornado. Anything in it's path will be sucked in. 3. Wall Cloud - A cloud that indicates a coming tornado? Am i on the right track?

More Americans need to advocate for buried power. Update and protect our electrical infrastructure all at the same time. It's 2024 and we're too advanced to be losing power to hundreds of thousands from weather. That is the only thing I'll ever claim Europe does better.

I was in a recent tornado in elkhorn Nebraska that destroyed homes and left the town in shock and silence. My power lines are buried, so along with our house being safe, we had electricity. I can’t say the same for other people.

@@I_Exist_. that EF3? I was watching that outbreak on radar as it happened. Truly terrifying power behind those. Really behind a handful of storms we’ve seen this season. Even here in Southern Michigan. But with our power grid exposed, it is destined to be challenged by severe weather. February of 2023 we had freezing rain in MI for ~8 hours. You bet your ass the power was taken out by tree limbs no longer able to support all that weight. It’s embarrassing to see how easily it can be damaged and cut service from so many as well as how outdated it is and were to replace all of our petroleum powered daily use items with electric when we aren’t guaranteed they’ll be usable. Something in this country needs to change in electrical infrastructure and fast. We’ve got countries with lower GDPs out pacing us in areas. It’s shameful and unacceptable.
