There are 5 main risks that the airlines have to deal with: 1) Israeli air defense missiles mistakenly going after a civilian aircraft - extremely low probability 2) Aircraft having radio contact issues (jamming) and being shot down intentionally as threats - very low probability 3) Fueled aircraft on the ground getting hit by a rocket or missile - pretty low probability 4) Aircraft targeted by long-range Syrian or Hizballah Russian/Chinese anti-air missiles - possible, but who knows where this is going 5) Targeted by Hamas/ISIS agents using MANPADS in the West Bank on approach/take-off - most likely scenario. I'm pretty sure Haifa has a beach, but in the map you show it's quiet far from it...

As an air traffic controller it seems very stupid. I would compare these airlines to continue flying rn to driving a car while looking at you’re car while driving. Huge risk

Israel airport has 1.5 minute to deal with crises whereas during 9/11, NORAD's Northeast Air Defense Sector had 9 minutes before the first plane hit the North Tower and they still couldn't do anything. Why are you putting a positive light on Israel's airport management???????

Israeli f 16, f15 and 35 are already in the air, mostly of the time, consequently the reaction time will be shorter

When coming from the Palestinians it won't be a mistake. They are waiting for an option to escalate things even more. The things they already did are terrible

"The aviation industry doesn't like to do anything new during conflicts" (2:32) is the absolute worst take in this video. Basically $ > your lives.

Maybe you're right. But when my cousin and her 4 y.o. daughter were trying to flee from war in Ukraine, they spent hours and hours in a car, then they left the car and waited for hours to cross the border with Poland. All these days they were risking their lifes. Probably a plane could make their way to a safe place shorter. And when you’re in a war zone, the least time you spend there, more chances you have to survive
@jmanjr Жыл бұрын
Then don’t fly, nobody is forcing YOU to do anything. For me I’d be perfectly fine flying in. It’s not then choosing $$ over lives, it’s people assessing risks and taking them on their own terms, just like YOU do everyday you get behind the wheel of a car. Stupid comment
@jmanjr Жыл бұрын
@@Vict86445they’re not correct, your point is valid and that was a terrible comment. If people were being forced beyond their will it would be different. Nobody forces anybody to fly.

I appreciate you are comparing Israel to Ukraine, and if comparing HAMAS and Russians in terms of war crimes and barbarism is correct, but Hamas and Russia's SAM capabilities are way different. Russians shot MH-17 over Ukraine back 2014.

Russia is still having flights, what do Russia and Israel have in common? They outnumber their enemy 100:1, they control the majority of "war" territory and they are the aggressive forces (they are moving into enemy territory) in both wars.
