SLAY Dominique! She's such a rock star. While I was never a gymnast, I watched the '96 games as a little girl and admired the Magnificent Seven. Now in my mid-20's I can still look up to the athletes from that team as adult role models.

I've always loved her. A classy, mature, articulate leader. I think Aly Raisman is similar in that way and we'll see her taking on more leadership roles over time too.

Dominique was really my favorite gymnast in the 90s. She was both so powerful and so fragile wich made her very endearing. It was always a great show and I held my breath every time. And what a presence too !!! I wish she had won the all around competition in Atlanta, she really deserved it. Thank you Dominique for having made us vibrate with you !!!! Kisses from France !!!

She always gets really annoyed when journalists ask her about being a woman of color in a white sport unless she brings it up herself. I love Dominique but she does gloss a lot of things over. I think it’s her nature. She has never wanted to come off as confrontational even though she was held to a much higher standard and dealt with a lot of racism in her career.
@blackentertainmenthistory86014 жыл бұрын
She is a woman and she is light skin yeah she is black but she never had much time to think about being black she never had time to think about racism she never cared if people did not like her because of her skin color the only thing that was on her mind was working hard and winning competition

dominique never misses an opportunity to sneak in a shameless plug these days, and now that she has this new gym and the whole nassar scandal came to light (which had nothing to do with her) her entire memory and narrative has magically changed all the sudden regarding her entire gymnastics career and everyone involved in it. you could see the transition begin in 2016 when she was still praising the sport, her coach, etc. in interviews but it wasn't fitting her new narrative and she started contradicting herself in the same interviews until she quickly just did a complete 180 out of nowhere..... she even flip flopped on her stance of putting her own kids in gymnastics........ sad to see this opportunistic side of her all the sudden.... she's making all these excuses now about her career when she was always judged very fairly relative to everyone else (i was there the whole time); it sounds like she's still really bitter from flopping so bad when she had the biggest chances at winning an aa int'l medal (93/94 worlds and 96 olympics)... get well soon dominique dawes!

Dominique was always judged harshly in that she was often underscored and was never credited with her bonus points in international competition. Her start values were well over 10 with the difficulty she performed. Her inquiries were rejected or seldom placed by USG. All this stuff is in her bios. You need to admit to being a hater. Who are you to post what she can say, remember or do in her life? You ain't fit to judge her. She doesn't exist to please you. Its her career & her life! Its her story. She can say whatever she wants about her life. She can raise her kids as she sees fit. Her life is none of your business anyway. Well, now I'm going to judge you and you're arrogant, annoying & despicable.
