Congrats totogoat, how do u see it playing against decks which run oppression? that could be a nuisance to work with. One more thing what do u think of the matchup against zombies and some stuff like Quickdraw, or MachinaQuickdraw? Really appreciate ur contents, just keep going :)

Not fun against oppression decks you usually need to save your s/t removal or stun for oppression in particular. QD and Machina are solid matchups usually get to combo against those decks. Appreciate it just happy to show people the start is viable!

Can someone explain to me how the chain link would resolve w the fullhelm into ryko interaction? U attack, ryko flips, ryko eff pops, and then fullhelm goes to gy? At what point does fullhelm have a chance to activate? Is Ryko “designated to go to gy” or smth the moment dmg calc happens? Thanks!

Ok I think I understand why fullhelm can activate but how can it target itself as a cost if it’s not in gy yet?

They occur in different substeps of the damage step. So ryko activate and resolve before fulhelm does and then fulhelm knight will resolve. Why fulhelm resolves in this case and not goyo? I could not tell you it’s just how it’s ruled lol

​@@totogonplays Goyo needs to send the monster to the graveyard and that condition is not met yet when Goyo is destroyed. When Fulhemknight is destroyed by Ryko it has already met all its activation requirements and that's why it triggers anyway. Congratulations on your top4 :)

@@totogonplays If you could that would be awesome to see. Tengu Plant X sabers is probably the peak power of the archetype with pre erata dark soul. It's probably not optimized yet for the format either.

What are your considerations for the 40th card going forward? I’m a big fan of Saber Hole in Sabers and it has the similar activation conditions as At 1 with the Sword.

Saber hole, TT, gravity bind, trap stun are what immediately come to mind. The card needs to have a good spread like gravity bind being good against wings but bad against vayu and frogs makes me not want to main it. Saber hole is ok but against those same two matchups not being able to use it on the vayu summon or the miracle fusion is what led me to take it out eventually

@@totogonplays Saber hole isn’t completely dead against the decks you’ve mentioned. Vayu does play Grepher/Arma normal summons as well as Caius and Gale. As for Frogs, Caius, V Fiend, and Subtoad normals are good targets for Saber Hole

You could cut them if you’re putting in iron wall the deck needs to find its pieces though and can do a decent job of surviving with recruiters going second but it can be cut

It’s alright it can be your 40th card and do ok my issue with it was being unable to stop miracle fusion and vayu summons

@@totogonplays true. I’m testing it out. I haven’t played Edison since Edison lol so I’m trying to figure it all back out. I did play xsaner tribrigade when that came out so I have it all maxed out minus a copy of enmers and no gottoms ecall bc they’re both terrible in modern

I don’t think it’s a “must play” if your build is trap heavy it wouldn’t make sense to play but the builds with monk have the most success

You don’t play dustshoot in sabers because the decks “pop off” is ripping your opponents hand. This leads to opponents setting their hand to dodge it. Dustshoot is only good during the first turn. Afterwards it’s usually dead making it not worth.

I tried avarice and it was mid. The card needs to be something generically strong. Avarice being dead for a while until you get going is what led me to take it out
