I drive the area between Lynnwood and Marysville several times a week, and it is, for all practical purposes, as lawless a stretch of freeway as I have ever driven. People speeding 30-40 MPH over the limit is common. Aggressive driving, weaving at high speed, people racing and clearly intoxicated drivers (with concerned drivers following with hazard lights as a warning) continuing for miles until finally exiting - not a cop in sight. It doesn't stop there. Red lights at offramp traffic signals are advisory, only. Washington freeways are becoming death traps. And people wonder why their insurance is going up...

so when SPD officer Kevin Dave struck and killed 23yr old Jaahnavi Kandula For crossing the street, was that not vehicular homicide as well? Yet there was no justice, instead she received a mockery of her death from another officer in their police department... Make it make sense!

Because they protect their own and only care about accountability or revenge when it comes to their band of blue So many people have shared similar stories. We all know if this man hadn't hit a cop car, it would be deemed an accident. They are retaliating and that poor man is going to pay for their anger. It's never fair when it comes to cops. They investigate their own always and the one who isn't in blue, is always going to be the one at fault

This is crap. They are going to make someone suffer for hitting the Troopers car. It was three am on the freeway! The "high rate of speed" is because he was on the FREEWAY! Maybe tell your patrol to stop parking on the FREEWAY! This was a tragic accident but very clearly avoidable if the trooper had not parked on the FREEWAY! The driver couldn't stop right away because he was on the FREEWAY! Clearly it is dangerous to stop as he was immediately hit by another car when he did. The police are going to crucify that man only because it was a cop that died. If anyone else would have been parked on the freeway, they would have been cited, or if they died, it would be deemed an accident and a warning would go out to the public about not parking on the FREEWAY. The person who hit the cop didn't do it on purpose. The way the police are spinning this story to the media to try to anger the public towards this person is so wrong. It's also gross that the media is feeding into it. This is why there is never any justice in our system when police are involved. The police, prosecutors, judges, media, etc.... all work together very closely to control the narrative. It's sad this trooper died, but it was a genuine accident obviously. Stop painting a picture to fit your revenge filled narrative.

@@haretyper4954 There is construction going on all up and down the freeway. The shoulder doesn't really exist right now, for one. For two, you weren't there either and neither was anybody else. It was 3am so for those police to be saying the driver was speeding is unknown to them. Any car traveling at freeway speeds that hits another car is likely going to be a tragic accident. People die from accidents everyday and it is just as sad and as tragic as this one. A man doesn't need to go to prison and be made into a monster over an accident. It wasn't a DUI, it clearly wasn't intentional, and that man was hit by a van when he pulled over as well. So very clearly it is a very unsafe area to pull onto the shoulder. It should never happen unless it is an absolute emergency, and this is proof of that. This certainly isn't the first time an Officer has been killed this way and if they don't change their policies, it won't be the last. They need to do a better job of protecting their own instead of waiting for tragic accidents such as this and then pointing their fingers for someone else to be held accountable. Period. It's not shame on me for telling it like it is, and I don't feel bad for doing so. I do however feel horribly for the man who is facing vehicular homicide charges over an accident.
