Whatever you think of his movies, as a person I think he's a really nice guy. A few years ago my niece had stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 14 and somehow friends of friends were able to connect with Sandler for him to call her on the phone while she was in the hospital receiving chemo treatment. His movies are her favorite and it was so sweet watching her light up with joy while he was doing voices from happy Gilmore over the phone for her, the local news were there as well to record the whole thing it was great. Thankfully my niece beat the cancer even after it came back a year later, she's now a happy and healthy 18 year old living her life as best she can💗

FUN FACTS! I am a fan of 8 Crazy Nights. But my all time favorites were his albums which I didn't see covered in this video. One of the albums had the Hanukkah Song, which contained the line that the title "8 Crazy Night's" comes from. He's an underrated musician and writer. I didn't know he was born in Brooklyn, but I know he attended high school in New Hampshire with my aunt. He must be a fan of Asian-American food. His family attended my family's Chinese Restaurant, which was depicted in 8 Crazy Nights and kept the restaurant name. Another great restaurant (it used to be located off I-90, in not too distant Chicopee, Massachusetts. Probably on his drive between NH and NY as a stand-up) called the Hu Ke Lau provided the name for the Hawaiian Diner where his character meets Demi Moore's character in 50 First Dates.

I was in the background of 2 of his movies just so I could get the chance to meet him, and I did on each set. Grown Ups and That's My Boy. I haven't watched either in a long time and they aren't my favorite of his, but it was a great opportunity because I grew up watching his movies and seeing him on SNL. Almost every Summer or Fall there would be an Adam Sandler movie and we listened to his CDs. I told him that Reign Over Me was my favorite performance of his and he smiled and said "thanks man". He even had his family with him, plus so many other people I'm a fan of were there, including Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, Maria Bello, Salma Hayek, Colin Quinn, and of course Rob Schneider. Also RIP Norm Macdonald.

Great summary, though, you blew past one of the best movies of the last two decades. It bears being mentioned that Spanglish was not only one of Adam's best roles, it was one of the best films in regards to story, editing, music and casting, ever. Any film and production school should use Spanglish as a premier example of how to make an absolutely amazing romance comedy movie.

Sometimes critics need to learn to shut up. How many movies were trashed like waterboy, and them they became sort of VHS classics. The movie is dumb as F but it has a magic, its fun. Period, not everything has to be oscar material FFS. Same as little Nicky, stupid as fuck. But fun, isn't that the whole point.

Found this series and now I’m binging 😂 this is the third episode I’ve seen in a row and I’m OBSESSED with Adam Sandler (like still know every single word to The Goat Song level) so I can’t wait! I related to Adam Sandler when I was 13. By the time I was 15 I found him immature and vulgar. By the time Tom Green got to be a big star I was already a mature grown up of 16.

Huge Adam Sandler fan, ever since his early "Remote Control" days. Even his bombs like "The Ridiculous Six have hilarious scenes (the hanging scene). He''s amazing in "Uncut Gems," and in my opinion, even better in the completely overlooked and underrated "The Meyerowitz Stories." Long live the Sand-Man!

remake of "the longest yard" was terrible. one of those 70s classics that can't be remade. growing up in the 80s, don't mind seeing something with a setting of that time. "the wedding singer" was ok. soundtrack brings back memories.

Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were an integral part of my formative years as a 90s kid... I must have seen both movies 200+ times each. What sticks out to me most now tho...? Everybody's parents HATED Adam Sandler movies! I DISTINCTLY remember my stepfather constantly telling me "Adam Sandler is an idiot. Mark my words, NO-BODY will know who he is in 20 years." Now Adam Sandler is one of the richest and most successful people in Hollywood! Yeah, his catalog is basically 35% solid GOLD and 75% complete and absolute GARBAGE, but when Sandler is on, he's ON! Was Grandma's Boy really not mentioned in this vid while Strange Wilderness was?? Lol, I actually think Strange Wilderness is totally underated and absolutely hilarious but Grandma's Boy is one of the funniest movies released in my lifetime...

I love the early stuff and his serious roles. 8 crazy nights is a perfect love it or hate it fare. The songs are silly and memorable and the old coach, Whitey I think, is super sweet & its hard to find anything irreverant about Jewish holidays. If hes having fun taking trips with friend and getting paid, more power to him, but I dont really watch any of those films. Always glad to see more stand-up and songs from the Sandman. Bulletproof is a fun buddy cop movie and Damon wayans is great in it.
