I saw this at a local theater a couple years ago, and most of the crowd hadn’t seen it before. It was nice seeing them react to the kills with the shock and terror I did when I saw it for the first time. It goes to show how well this movie holds up 40+ years later.

Part 6 might have been the first that I watched then maybe the first and everything in between. It's funny to think that nowadays if you watch a movie series, the first one comes out and everything else is a prequel and that's kind of how I look at my Friday the 13th experience.
@matthewennis3591

@@christheman9881 part 2 had atmosphere too. The first two were the only ones filmed in the Northeast, but the music score wasn’t as good as the first in my opinion. So that took away some atmosphere. But it’s definitely more suspenseful than the others in the series!

Friday The 13th was never classed as a video nasty, it’s just that copies of the uncut version of the film were seized by the police after the 1984 Video Recordings Act was passed through parliament. It’s in the same league as John Carpenter’s The Thing for example which appeared on TV in round about 1986.

I know people say part's 2,4, and 6 are the best and I love those sequel's but the original is my favorite suspense the build up the Reveal of the killer and it was a female fantastic

I think 2 and 3 are the best honestly. The 2nd had you wondering what the heck was going to happen next, and the 3rd of course Jason gets his mask. Most acting in the 3rd was bad, but it was still a good film.

@@jamesmorant1406 Yeah it was good stuff! Those films really make you think they just cant make them like that anymore. Even with all these low/mid budget films with better equipment/effects at their fingertips, they just cannot do it. :(

Strange about the love that many fans have for Part 6, it's so silly and over the top. Part 5 and Part 6, that's where it all got goofy and then back to serious again for Part 7 and going forward.

I never understood why if this all took place on Friday June 13th, why the hell at the end of the movie are all the trees changing color in the background on the lake. Typically, june is a rather green month

Love your videos mate, but FYI Friday the 13th wasn’t a video nasty in England. It wasn’t even prosecuted (which would have made it a video nasty). As always, only indie video labels got busted. Cops wouldn’t prosecute Friday 13th cos Warner Bros are a massive company with a shit tonne of lawyers! Indie video companies had nothing, so they were easy to prosecute. However, they originally released the unrated version but replaced it with the R rated version (to keep it in line with what was in the cinemas). There were some cops who would confiscate the video to be destroyed but there are still a lot of copies around. I have one of the uncut copies on VHS because the sleeve was so nostalgic. Film censorship was so bad after the video nasty era that many of us whom went to America on holiday used to buy an extra suitcase just so we could buy videos that were either banned or heavily cut in England at the time (and there were loads!). Anyway, keep up the great work!

No "clues" about the killer? Uhhhh, if you look at the front of the car that picks up the girl whom the driver kills shortly after, that's the only clue you need.

Idc but I prefer Friday the 13th over Halloween. The first Halloween was definitely a perfect horror film. But Friday the 13th Parts 1-4 were absolutely terrifying as a child. Nightmare fuel.
