People that truly understand fashion understand that every fashion trend is recycled throughout history... for example "Adidas Sambas" last huge trend wave was in the 90s & died off in the early 2000s so someone's Mom or Dad prob tells their kid "hey these Sambas was real trendy when I was in school so they go buy a pair & the trend is relived again and again...

The fashion is killed in TikTok, not in real life. I feel like people are divided on TikTok and being into TikTok is cringe in of itself. If u someone really gets called out for being late to a trend u have to be in high school, which at that point the popular kids rule the game, also where TikTok has the most influence. Even young adults I feel see it as something that isn’t based in reality, so trends there come and go, only good trends make it into real world experiences. In fact often I see in metropolitan cities someone people dress like their “in TikTok” and look outlandish, it is obvious where they get their style; equalling slightly cringe. IMO ofc

I think I’ve mad a full circle with fashion. At first i was hype beast supreme, bape, Jordan’s. Secondly I went to more street wear trousers north face and yeezy. Currently slides jacket and warm jacket lol. Keeping up with trends will leave you broke 😂.

Definitely not cope you make a good point. Trends are born out of inspiration not just hype. While some might blindly follow them, within these trends are unique artistic expressions that are worth taking inspiration from. Everything people wear was once a trend. So to act like you’re above trends is silly. You can’t say “I don’t follow trends” while wearing Air Maxs and skinny jeans. You’re just following last decades trends. To be clear that’s pretty much all I wear lol. But I’m honest about it. And I have incorporated some wider fits (mostly in shirts) into my style. Ironically, Jordan 4s have been the only Jordan I ever wore for the last 20 years. So now my collection looks basic lol. But I don’t care.

when it comes to the 550's, i still like them. i just hated that period of time during 2020-2021 when the resale price was insanely high for no reason aside from hype. now you can walk into champs or foot lockers and find pairs either on sale or a retail prices

Fashion will always be subjective! Big on being creative & authentic to your personal style. I have nothing against TikTok trends but majority of it all, is for public validation. Mind you, likes don't determine good style. *Riding every single trend wave makes you faceless.* So, identify clothes suited for your body type and learn about colour theory, you'd be surprise how easy it is to dress well!

I'm still wondering that this "TikTok influence" on people is indeed real🤔 I mean, this platform never really grabbed my attention and I never understood the "hype" for it at all. Its a cool basket ball shoe but i would definetly not buy the collab or any model that is expensive. I have the white grey which are the most common one and i see them like classic white Air Force One. But yes people will love/hate them when told to and its sad. People are just consuming trends and not seeing that buying a 200€ pair of sneaker every months that you will wear 1 months then never touch again is dumb
