Its a practical way of reactionism. "I dont like what i get offered so i wear what i want even tho is not what im not suposed to" also current generations have way more in comon with the youth of those years rather than what brands introduce us as the current youth, so its a way of living a culture you feel part of but didnt got the chance to live it with all the advantages we have today. For examples 80s cars had the shape they had due to tecnologic limitations, but now days you could choose to make a car like that beacouse only of the looks, past aesthetics were consecuense of their context same way bringing them back is a consecuence of our context

I just don’t like the way fashion has been going with it looking more and more bland and dystopian. I like the color and the pop that, maybe past generations had maybe they didn’t, but it sure FEELS like they had them when you see a picture with some film grain and washed colors on it on instagram 😂 and I like that kind of feeling from the aesthetic of the clothes
