I had a similar experience but with sonic. Shadow the hedgehog was my first introduction to the sonic universe . I grew up with Titans so much as a kid. I had the 360 version just like you, and out of all of the characters that changed, I think Nina Cortex had the best re-design and representation in the game. In Twinsanity she mostly just sat quite silent, her design wasn’t that great compared to Nitro Fueled and Titans. In Titans she genuinely had a strong motivation, even more than what Neo Cortex had. Hell her voice actress did an amazing job on her and you can even tell Beenox took inspiration from that game in NF when adding in Nina.

I still remember first time I've played Crash of The Titans (I was 7). Everything was different, but it was fun... and then I finally found Tiny and I was so confused. I didn't like it (He was my favorite boss in Crash 2 and 3, and then this happens), but since he only appears one time, I don't mind that much. Today, it could really be a new character, but you shouldn't change so much such a loved characters. Also, Crash of The Titans was a fine game, but they shouldn't have tried to make it a main line game. I was so sad thinking the old Crash style was gone forever. But COTT would've been a great secondary title.

I lent my PS3 copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga to a classmate in high school. He took it to a mate's house and "lost" it and gave me back the empty case. If you approached this from an objective perspective titans tiny wouldn't look so bad. I think the personality change was good as it gave tiny more memorable character. This is probably what the creators of the game thought too. Koala kong and Tiny tiger were originally way too similar characters. What I think is weird is the fact that Tiny was originally a tasmanian tiger which is in fact not a tiger at all. To me, Titans Tiny is an interesting example of a scrappy (a character no one likes). He's not some douchebag (like Teen Titans Go! Titans) or a failed character archetype (Mike Tyson proves his character can work as show in Mike Tyson Mysteries). He's not hated for the same reason Chris or Elise (both Sonic characters) are hated. In fact, he's the only character I know to be hated for nostalgia alone. You can argue New 52 Lobo is the same but there are other reasons people hated New 52 Lobo and that character is made with and based around multiple entire ideas and not just for a single joke.

I believe they might've made him a Mike Tyson parody to foil Crunch becoming a Mr. T parody? Also, It's a strange oversight that they made him a regular tiger instead of keeping him as a Thylacine... I guess the reason they changed his species was to really drill in that from now on Crash would be their own thing, so they probably wanted to make him an actual tiger. Tasmanian Tigers have been long extinct so it doesn't truly make sense to have him be one, but at the same time it's a cartoon video game so it doesn't really matter. In my head, this version of the character is all-new and Cortex probably calls him Tiny in remembrance of the old Tiny dying off.

Honestly COTT was my childhood game alongside Mind over mutant and CTTR. I still love these versions of the characters (particularly Uka Uka, I actually prefer his COTT design than current), including Tiny as it was the first version I ever saw of Tiny and I found him funny. But I still love current Tiny, I've always just liked COTT Tiny for nostalgia reasons.

I liked Crash of the Titans, but most redesigns sucked ass except Coco,Nina and Uka Uka. And I'm an OG Crash Bandicoot fan since Naughty Dogs and while I don't think COTT is the best Crash game it doesn't even deserve all the hate it gets.

I'm one of the people who hated the Titans design, not only did they completely changed his design and personality they changed his species as well. Original Tiny is a Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine), while Titans made him a regular feline Tiger. Though to be fair most people dont know about Tasmanian tigers but thats why Tiny has a huge muzzle. If this dude was a new character I wouldnt have been so mad about it at the time.

As a kid I didn't give a damn about the crash characters. I could only appreciate the designs since at that time I didn't understand English at all, and Tiny was by far the one I cared for the least. I was like "a gladiator tiger... Meh, boring". Fast forward to Crash of the Titans, which came with subtitles in my language +at the time I was in the process of learning English) and I just couldn't help laughing. I love the trope of the super bulky character having a cutsie voice and soft personality, and I also like the trope of characters that threaten you while being nice about it. Sufices to say, Tinny saying "I'll have to eat your face" the way he did made me fall in love with it Also to be fair, Crash 3 was the only Crash game I ever owned, so I wasn't too attached to the original design. However I'm still mad at Akuaku and Ukauka redesigns.

On the subject of Tiny though, I mean yeah, they could've easily just made him a separate character, hell even make him Tiny's brother or something, and it would still work, as for the reference he could just be mad on Tiny's behalf on not being in that game.

tootpaste contains a very fine abrasive. so you're basically polishing the surface of the disc.

I know this is late but to anyone that has a scratched up disc, don't use toothpaste to try and clean it. It's an abrasive so you're scratching the disc more. If you can, take it to a locally owned game shop, library or whatever and have them buff the disc for you. It's doing the same thing as the toothpaste and removing a layer from the disc essentially, but it's doing an even run over the entire surface. As far as your disc there goes though, your friend knocked his 360 over of just bumped the system while it was in there and playing. I can tell by that ring on the disc. All models of the 360 have a horrible design choice where the system doesn't hold the disc, so if you bump the system, knock it over or whatever while it's playing, the disc is basically sliding around on surfaces in the system and gets the ring which usually just kills the disc depending on how thick it is. Resurfacing the discs don't do to well with these and the disc is usually bum at that point.
