I came here from the Steam page for Thief because of the sale with his curator review. I didn't realize how hard his voice would hit me after all this time. We really lost a legend here. Maybe it's for the best for him not to see what's going on with the industry now. But maybe he would slap some sense into them. Rest in Peace.

It's Steam Winter Sale and the year is 2020. The year itself was horrible, compounded by the fact that TotalBuiscuit and his reviews are no longer with us; i would have loved to hear his take on Cyberpunk 2077. Anyway, one of the games on heavy discount is Thief; i haven't bought it on it's initial release, but i've watched this video back then. I rewatched it again now and i'm gonna buy and play it in his honor. Rest in peace, John Peter Bain and thanks for all of your opinions.

I never bothered buying this game because I saw the rooftop chase in let's plays and lost interest. I wanted a quieter game where you took your time and not some hectic Mirror's Edge clone where you didn't have time to take in the surroundings and soak up the atmosphere.

I bought the game in 2014 when it came out, played a mission and abandoned it (I am a fan of original 1&2). But I have just returned to the game in 2023 and finished it just after almost 10 years.... let me say, I enjoyed it. You need some time to forget about originals and suddenly this one becomes a good game :)

Just played through and honestly the setpiece moments like that are pretty few and far between. Maybe 4-5 in a game with 8 levels and several side missions and a city to explore. Plus they are short lived so dont really drag the experience too much imo.
