It's because the camera on Smashville is pretty buggy. There was one match where ESAM took a random 1% just because it went up. If you combine the zoom in with Pikachu clipping under the stage, the game guesses that Pikachu is dead because they were close to being off the screen.

Still, i guess I can imagine what happen in most cases. 0:13 It looks like cancelling bowser's Side-B can result in a huge hurtbox shift. 0:29 The guy only pushed luigi off the ledge, ending the shieldbreak stun. Luigi's Down-B has invulnerability at frame 1 and a windbox so he can both avoid the F-smash and drag bowser into him (that Tornado is so good). 0:46 That's clearly a bug. I guess quick attack hurtbox shifting made the CPU think pikachu was below the stage. 1:10 Piranha Plant's head was inside Palutena when she did the F-Smash. 1:23 Considering the damage snake received and the Knockback, looks like Snake did his favourite hobby: Dying by his own C4. 1:40 Lylat will be Lylat forever. Stage spikes are just so common in that mess... 2:02 It's not even weird. Is just a regular stage spike, during the 2-frame window. 2:27 Puff was rolling away from the stage so the move would send you to the left instead of the right. 2:43 A brilliant play from Snake. Joker reflected the grenade so he was not able to counter the up air; not only that, but also he extended the sweetspot duration by kicking the grenade. 3:00 Literally the same thing it happened in the first clip. Mario and Lucas also has 3.6% more damage, proving my theory. 3:17 That's literally what happens when Ganondorf tries to recover to the ledge with side B and you're on his way. 3:30 Pac-man hit the ledge so he was reflected upwards. 4:03 Take a shot every time I mention "hurtbox shifting", this case with ZSS Up air's whiff. 4:21 Luigi's B-air hit ZSS in the same frame ZSS's F-Tilt connected with Luigi. It can result in things like this. 6:45 Piranha Plant released down B and did not have enough time to hit Sonic. Still, Sonic's F-smash has more range than Luigi's grab, and since it was charged it deal more than 18% of armor Plant had. 7:12 Had I mention that Ness's hitboxes are huge? PK thunder 2 hits behind Ness for some reason. 7:19 I haven't seen this bug in months. I guess since is just a visual effect in the background they never bother about. 7:50 That's a phantom hit; exist since melee, and since brawl it has this effect. It happens when a hit barely connects in a model's hurtbox, making your hurtbox in practice a bit thinner, altough by just 0.1 units which is smaller than the fingers in the more realistic human characters. 8:13 Byleth knew that she would get an upwards launch angle so he tried to do a read with D-Air. ZSS did a terrible DI, being killed at 43%, first to the right to be a juggled and then upwards to being killed earlier. 8:38 In Smash 4, once you grabbed the ledge you cannot do it again for 55 frames. Maybe that's what happened here since Byleth tried to grab the ledge too soon. 8:58 Hopefully it's the last time i need to mention that hurtbox shift exist. 9:12 Edge attacks are bigger than you might expect, and G&W has really weird animations and hitboxes. 9:25 Richter was closer to Zelda than Link the moment she used the grab. The pummel animation Zelda uses has leaves enough distance to Link not being pushed to the left.

Just a few notes about some of the clips. 3:17 the point of the clip is that Ganon falls out of the DK UpB (because he slides off stage, but even then usually the characters stick in the UpB) 5:03 Ness Dair is pretty good, but it connects because of Ridley's wingspan (Upair) 6:03 like someone else mentioned, it's Banjo's UpB platform. Very often any hitbox near the blastzone will give the flash, even though it sends away (in this case up) from the blastzone 6:15 regular Sonic Bair, however the Sonic animation after that is the weird looking part 7:12 PK Flash2 does reach to behind (not too much, def not under the platform like that unless very tall character), but Samus did UpSmash and the animation caused Samus's arm to be connected with Ness at the moment of PK Flash2 9:15 though the grab was odd and you explained it well, I think the point of the clip was that they all blasted away. And that's because Richter used UpAir right during the 2nd part of Zelda UpB, causing all of them to blast away, Zelda included. Again, thanks for taking the time for the last man! Yes, Joker's DownB with Arsene is either a reflector or a counter, never both. Since it reacted to granade (A projectile) as a reflector, then Joker was open to physical attacks.

For #24, when a hitbox is extremely close to a character (basically touching the model but not enough to hurt them), those sparks appear. Little Mac’s punches were clipping the Mii’s hand, which was poking out of the shield at the time.

Gustavo Hidalgo That's not supposed to happen in a game AT ALL. (Unless it's intentional) You see, the reason why T-Pose exists is an easy way to edit a 3D character to do animations or to be colored. This is why it usually prevents your character from moving and is a soft lock, provided you somehow activate it. Every character in a 3D game (maybe some 2D) will have a T-pose. You aren't supposed to see it in the finished product. If you see it, it's a major glitch and it needs to be patched, which is why the guy called for a patch. *The more you know*

When you push a character to the edge, they automatically wake up, causing the following incident to happen. 6:45 Plant was trying to extend to attack Sonic, but his attacks aren’t disjointed. In other words, Sonic could hit wherever on his body since it’s not like a sword, projectile, or Min Min’s arms. Since he got hit, Plant was put into his hit stun animation, which is why it looked like Sonic’s hitbox was bigger than meets the eye.
