I don't understand "No, the rules are there", both DAS and the flexi wings were compliant with the rules when developed, the rules had to be updated. So, no. The rules "were not there". I think carnage comes also from being too strict, if it weren't from Mercedes protesting the rear Red Bull wing we wouldn't know that Mercedes also has a front wing that flexes a lot.

Singapore is a highly underrated track. Safety car every race, incidents every race, some surprises in every race. The qualifying is exciting and the laps are nail-biting to watch. It's a drivers' circuit where you have to show skill in how you coax the car around slow corners as quickly as possible. As a Seb fan, I love the place (let's just ignore the 2017 race and only remember qualifying). As a regular hotlapper of the track, I love it. It's as hard as Monaco, but with a bit more setup compromise and also the heat and exhaustion of Malaysia.

DAS is a very bad comparison to the flexywings. Flexible wings are prohibited and the regulation allows the FIA to have stricter testing if they suspect someone uses (testing not rule) tolerances with intent to gain an advantage. We’ll see what happens on Saturday or Sunday, but one of the reasons for the lack of pace in Baku could be due to the floor design? They have to run skinny wings in Baku so they are dependent on the floor for most of the downforce, and given that the FIA have nerfed the floor with the new regs that might have a significant impact This is also consistent with the performance of the Aston “other Mercedes” Martin.

@9:20 that you were having... not me... just like me predicting ferrari would be a lot better this year... and as we are at it, maybe its time to admit to the fact that the mercedes livery is absolutely brilliant and one of the nicest liverys ever done ... and you know the fun part... im not even fanboying... im a mclaren fan, i would cheer if both their cars burst in sponteneous fire at the start.

As a Tifosi, I would never wish such bad luck on any of my team's competitors. A car catching fire can be dangerous to the driver. Would love to see Ferrari, Williams and McLaren fighting for the top honours in the near future.

Double COTA would be cool. But what about Indy? It’s grade one... 2000s F1 fans might get triggered, but it’d at least be different.
