So great to see all of you - congratulations Amanda ❤️ Crochet is having a moment and I really love that!

I noticed a trend of Mosaic knitting that started with the Pressed Flowers Shawl and worked up to the Artus Shawl. And it’s still growing strong. So many beautiful mosaic patterns! Thanks for another great podcast!

From my perch I too have seen Intarsia coming for several years. In the knitting world, there was a pattern called Tungsten and around the same time Arne & Carlos did a stag sweater also intarsia, which was high fashion knitwear inspired. Fast forward to 2023 and Harry Styles’ Pleasing brand launched two ready to wear sweaters: the brown and white kissing swans sweater and a bright blue sweater with an oversized offset red heart.

You all look glorious in your colorful, beautiful sweaters. I think of my mom’s knits from the 70’s or 80’s, and I don’t know of anything I would rather knit (style-wise) than all the great patterns I have access to today. I do want to knit one of those Mary Maxim-ish cardigans with scenes on the front and back… or horses, or whatever in Earth-tones. But I can’t see this becoming a popular trend!

Wow, I think this is my first time watching you guys on the day you publish the podcast! Not quite a knitting trend, but a yarny trend - I feel like I'm seeing a lot more patterns for cute crochet garments than I used to, which is great :D Thanks for the podcast - I always enjoy watching!

I’ve noticed so many more cable cardigans this fall than I have in years. I’ve also seen a few sweaters with both knit and crochet elements, and I’m intrigued.

Another great episode ladies! I love your sweaters!! Congrats on your engagement Amanda! I’d like to see doilie knitting make a comeback!

Congratulations Amanda! I'm seeing lots of patterns for small items, obviously tis the season for (panic) gift knitting! Vests/Slipovers seem to be trending up which is great, no sleeve island!

I am still enjoying the trend of the small scarves like the Sophie scarf, and the many variations that others are coming out with.

Amanda talking about making doll clothes reminds me how my grandma used to sew my Barbie’s clothes.

Really great podcast! Congratulations on your engagement, Amanda! I’ve been knitting about 40 years, and the one trend I’d love to see make a big return is definitely intarsia. It’s not as tricky as it looks, and the possibilities are endless! Any chance you could point us towards this NYT chocolate cookie recipe you mentioned? Sounds amazing!

I've been craving brioche lately so I could definitely get on board if that became a trend!

hahaha~ to the fashion. I agree with everything said. I can't do baby tees with prints or thick Rockit dogs.LOL. I think when you look good in what you wear, people notice, and then they like the looks. If I paid attention to fashion brands, I'd feel ridiculous. I'm moving into being more of a mosaic, cable knitter than colorwork. While colorwork moves, it's not relaxing enough for me to manage all the yarn. Thanks for the time, Gals! Congrats Amanda!!!!! - Kimberly

Cookies, I'm making white chocolate (not the palm oil chips that pretend) macadamia nut and dried cranberry cookies, a good cookie swap cookie is some form of shortbread cookie, they don't have eggs (incase of egg allergies) Russian tea cake aka Mexican wedding cake aka power sugar bombs always dissappear instantly but can be messy.

Oh, 90's sneakers are definitely trending! My kids now want to look like I did in the 90's! As for crafting, I'm not a big fan of all the granny square sweaters. Thanks for keeping me company today!

Granny Squares. See them everywhere even retail

To answer your question, it seems like every pattern includes some sort of fluff - mohair, suri, etc. And so many commercial yarns include fluff as a component.

And additional cost to every project.

I think intarsia will be the next big thing. I’ve never done it, wouldn’t mind trying it though.

For Amanda, when I got engaged I had a similar reaction of "what are you doing? What's going on?" And I fully panicked 😂 I made him nervous and forget what he was going to say

I may be a bit behind the trend but it seems like slipover and vests are a trend. And I think they’re great.
