Really cool, even if I like to tune differently top & bottom heads. Great idea and I think more reliable than common systems.

Yeah, there sure are some give and take with this system. But you will get different tuning on top and bottom depending on drum head and thickness. Still can’t fine tune it though. The positive side are many after all.

No way to change the interval between top and bottom head with this system, and that interval will only depend on the thickness difference between top and bottom heads so unless you're using the same head as batter and reso there's no guarantee you'll ever get an in tune sound with this system. It makes changing tension easier, but on the other hand it takes away a hell of a lot of freedom.

Guess you have to experiment a bit with the head thickness relation. But they sounded really good to me and I’d be happy to sacrifice some freedom in tuning possibilities to know that it will stay in tune. If I want to experiment more I’ll go for another kit. No kit does it all.

When Ive tried different thinner resonant heads on bottom and thicker single plies on top of say...Sleishman drums, their relationship was cool...a bit of pitchbend actually with the thinner head going higher sooner that the top head under the same tension. Head combo is fun to experiment with here for sure!

Cameron Smith ah, cool. Have to experiment a bit with that. I have one of those Evans keys.

Are you sure you don't lose tension the farther away you are from the tension knob.

I’m not sure about anything, but if that were the case wouldn’t it all sound out of tune?
