They were truly classics. Snake in the Monkey's shadow, Ninja on the Wall, Five Dealy Venoms, the Magnificent Butcher, The Iron Monkey and 36th Chamber of Shaolin to name a few.

@@walterwyte3546 modern kung fu movies have that awful wirework and flying around. The Shaw Brothers classics had real martial artists and Chinese circus performers, engaging plots with themes of rebellion and brotherhood, the best sets and costumes, and most importantly the dubbing.

This is really dope that you compiled this. I always find it interesting to run across samples and stuff in hip-hop songs. It's like learning something that barely anyone knows or will ever discover. Like learning a secret technique or shaolin fighting style.

I just think it's amazing that some guys chilling together down in Staten Island were watching these old martial arts films translated to English then they used it as inspiration and translated it to hip hop bringing it to the entire world.

"The WU is the way, the TANG is the slang." This quote from the RZA solidified the meaning for naming a group of 10 NY MCs as the WU TANG CLAN. It had made sense to them since martial art culture was already a part of their childhood entertainment. Compare this concept to that of Griselda and their use of pro wrestling snippets. I swear these movies was the best for Us NYC 70's kids, kept most of Us in shape. After Saturday morning cartoons and six bowls of Capt. Krunch cereal or corn Flakes with lots of sugar at bottom of bowl undissolved, We became the Kung Fu Masters. Breaking shit in the house of Our Parents & Grand parents. Getting Our asses beat by Kung Fu karate Chop Mom's, Aunties or GrandMa's. Blaming each other for who broke what. Daaamn I got tears of nostalgic laughter right now.

Mostly by finding clips from the English Radio Television Hong Kong station from the 70s and 80s (where a lot of them were or still are announcers) and talking to the few dubbers who've come out of the woodwork themselves. They were mostly British expats.

I’m asian and i swear black people have watched more of these movies than me😂😂 but I’ve seen a lot of these actors in other movies lol.

This is great .. I've been down with the Wu since '93 when I was a kid and copped the "36 Chambers" cassette tape .. So cool to hear where all those voice clips / samples came from after all these years !! @ 5:10 Jackie Chan lol !!

I was hoping to hear the sample from gravel pit “You, yaa-koo are the bearer of 9000, 900 and 99 dieseses pork chop eating brain” Absolutely loved this sampling I’m big into movies and always wondered where the samples came from
