I recommend the Surge Pro controller. It's only $30 on Amazon. It has turbo and macros. There are 4 buttons on the back of the controller that you can store the macros on and you can record the macro without a computer.
@JaYfizz04 жыл бұрын
Similar to the SN30 Pro +, the macros on the Surge do not take into account time intervals between inputs, so sadly it won't help hit/harvest rocks or trees.
@Kamikaze_44 жыл бұрын
@@JaYfizz0 Yeah, you're right. I use mine to do things like craft bulk items. It can also do the tree trick he shows in the video where you just hit one button and it can chop down the tree and dig up the stump. It's kind of gimmicky, but fun. Something you could do to buffer inputs is to give it junk inputs that won't affect what you're doing. For instance, while in a menu, you can press R1 as many times as needed to slow down the desired inputs. Another downside to it is the same as in the video: you can't macro the analog sticks, which would incredibly useful in this game, but alas. Still a good buy for 30 bucks though if you don't have any other controllers. It's pretty comfy in the hands and the buttons/sticks feel good. The d-pad is also responsive.

@JaYfizz04 жыл бұрын
@@Kamikaze_4 So first off the SN30 Pro+ is limited to 18 actions of macro, and even with "dead" inputs like R1 in a menu, the controller/switch would "miss" inputs sometimes-- i think due to the speed of the inputs. You also cant macro the control stick. I spent about 40min trying different macro combinations for selecting items in the menu quickly-- but my best combination only worked about 70% of the time. I also unbinded R1 in the software so it wasnt even sending R1 inputs to the switch.

As of now, the 8BitDo Ultimate Software works only with the 'Plus'-Version. With the SN30 Pro (NON-Plus) you can start it in e.g. dinput mode (Start+B) AND NOW the star/screen capture Button automatically becomes a Turbo button. Now just connect it to a controller adapter. I know it works with the 8BitDo brown brick one (I may later test my MagicNS) Edit: I myself used an Arduino(ATMega32U4)+Serial adapter+RaspberryPi this night for star fragments (what a coincident). There are several projects with or without serial on GitHub. It seems to be working somewhat, because I got 90 on that Miles progress (from 0). It was quickly set up and started late (10pm-ish), I went to bed right after, so I have no idea how 'effective' it was. But i wager it's more than the 2 i saw while setting up. Hint: if you do this, make sure the Controller Emulator/Arduino is setup as Player 1 (use 'Change Grip order' dialog) because ACNH disconnects/ignores all unnecessary controllers. (I haven't tested local MP/call resident)

I have my back buttons set to assign both kinds of turbo. Not sure if there's actual names, but I call them active turbo to turbo when I'm holding the button, and passive turbo to automatically turbo without pressing anything.

"I saw turbo on controllers a lot growing up, specifically on retro consoles" you know, as opposed to the future consoles you played growing up?

I already had an SN30 Pro+ and wasn't using it for AC yet until the wishing on a shooting star event. I set it up and used the capture button as a turbo modifier on the PC software and got us all (my wife, daughter, and I) the shooting star wishes over 200 that night. Good stuff. I actually used the Pro controller to hold down the A button on the SN30 Pro+. XD

The Hori split pad pro has a turbo option, but it also has an option where it will automatically hit the button for you, so you dont even have to hold it down. (super useful for when you are doing shooting stars)

I watched you on stream trying to set up your macro, in that time you could’ve gone through your island hit your rocks manually and played the game as intended. 😂😂😂😂😭

The $20 wired hori controller is probably the best turbo. You can map the turbo to 'a' and then it'll just auto-spam the button. Without having to rubberband your controller or anything. And on top of that, it's a hori controller. So it's great. But using it to get shooting stars is soooo good
@heero1010864 жыл бұрын
With the 8BitDo controller, if you HOLD A, then Press Star(Turbo), you can let go and the controller will continue mashing A until you hold A and press Star again.
@stavguo4 жыл бұрын
Marc Levy how did you get it to work? I followed your instructions and all it does is press A when I press star, it’s not spamming A like I want it to
@BlackDroid0034 жыл бұрын
Didn't work for me either. Please elaborate. Is the controller in Switch Mode? Which one is it? (eg SN30 pro OR SN30 pro PLUS)...
@j7a1k1e4 жыл бұрын
Nintendo switch Horipad has a turbo button that doesn't require any inputs to use. I use it on nights where there's a meteor shower. I empty my hands, go to a part of my island where I can see the sky, look up, set the turbo to A, and leave it all night. It will automatically wish on every star all night long.

at first I thought 'um... a video about controllers...' but after actually watching this I'm glad I did! really interesting, might have to invest in a controller for my switch now 🤩🥰

If you're thinking about playing a Rhythm game, most of them come with a macro mode built in, where you can easily change the buttons. But I don't recommend using turbo for Rhythm games, since the timing might be off

haha me too, i was debating if i should get a switch (or lite) just to play this game so i can relate with my friends... but like what he said, "remind me again why this game is fun?" and.... "why do we like this game?"... and there's a rumor of a new version, so it would kinda suck to buy a switch now and get slapped with a new one on your face (with coronavirus, i doubt that'll happen)

I would actually recommend the pdp faceoff controller, as a normal controller it’s not very good, but you can set the turbo to input without having to hold down the button, it’s real cheap as well.

I gotta say, the Hori Gamecube Controller for the Switch is a pretty solid option for Animal Crossing. It has a turbo mode, and gives you the classic Gamecube Animal Crossing feel when playing. Only downsides are the swapped L/LR and R/ZR (super easy to fix though), and there's no rumble. But that's my recommendation.

I had very few issues with just using the Joy-Cons in the past, but a couple of days into Animal Crossing I saw that investing in a turbo controller would pay of. Went with the 8bitdo SN30 pro+ Game Boy Edition and it has been a lifesaver. Only problem was that I've grown so accustom to the JoyCons that the travel distance on any other controllers joysticks feels horrible. Luckily you can adjust the sensitivity on the joysticks on the SN30, and then I just modified a hairtie to be really short and put that around the left joystick. Feels and works just like a joycon joystick now :) Sidetip. You can register the L3 and R3 buttons to other buttons. Binding R3 to Dpad Up have given me a much more natural way of bringing up the toolwheel.

I'm probably really late to the party but do you know in the software you can actually have it set to Turbo hold once you set the turbo button it does not stop pressing that button till you hold the button down just use the sn30 software and set hold instead of Turbo to the star button

I have a cheap LREGO controller for around 16$ which has either turbo and gyroscope function, and I choose to play it over very expensive original switch controllers. I find turbo option VERY useful!

if you want dialogue to read faster without the turbo press B to get to the next line instead of A. If you are already on the next line just hold B down and it will start reading faster.

useful info: you don't have to "kill" the screenshot button for turbo to word you dont have to download the app for your pc at all just hold the button you want turbo on and press the screenshot button (yes you will take a screenshot but you can delete it later) and bam, turbo :)

I recommend the Hori Turbo gamepad controller for switch. Yes, its wired, and yes its cheap, but holy fvck, not only does it excel at everything else compared to a wireless controller, but it also has 2 turbo modes. the first is a set it, and then hold the button. The 2nd one tho, is the best. Otherwise known as the set it and forget it, because when you set it to 2nd turbo mode, there is no need for to hold the button down. It does it for you.

Even tho i dont have a switch and i havent played animal crossing, this was still a vid i didnt know i needed to see. i got myself the 8bitdo pro 2 after seeing bob's review on it and i started playing the original god of war games on the ps2 and we all remember how u had to spam circle and r2 like a mad man in many sections, i thought about how we can get past those sections without damaging my buttons in the process then i finally remembered that the controller has turbo in it and i was like why the hell didnt i think of it earlier. After that god of war was a breeze in the sections u had to spam a button
