Overall it’s the smaller controller too, so if I had to pick between the two, I’d pick the Xbox controller. But I like having the Dualsense for 2D games, since the d-pad is in a more comfortable spot for prolonged use

Something that was overlooked here was the bumpers on the series x controller. They are a huge improvement over the xbox one version. The xbox one version had these really creaky bumpers that felt horrible to press. The series x bumpers are tactile and clicky. Biggest improvement in my opinion.

"HD Rumble" is at its best when using joy-cons. Simply cause you can feel the vibrations the most. Pro Controller och DS5 gives less feeling due to weight and more far more plastic around the motors. I think that AC New Horizon simulating door knocking is still the best use of it.

A nice update about 6 months later is more developers have come out and said they will in fact support the ps5 controller feedback. New games like chivalry have done some amazing things with it even in the beta. Most studios have said there will be at least some cool tech stuff for the ps5 version

I play on PC with a controller, and have been using a switch pro for a few years. I got a Dualsense today, and its great! Probably will end up being my favorite controller ever. I use steam input for everything, and they have all the features of the ps5 controller implemented now, but until devs add the support to the actual games its still just emulating an xbox controller. But once games do add support natively all features should work, including the adaptive triggers.

I guess the only thing not to love about the DualSense so far is the lack of in-game button symbols for the Sony controllers? At least when I still used my DS4 controller on PC I remember a few rare games would show the correct button prompts but come on it should be all of them by now. Game devs get with the time please. I don't know about the DualSense's battery life either? Sony should offer good PC drivers too just like Nintendo. And do they offer a good wireless dongle for W10 support? I think that is important because BT support has always been an issue on Windows. Many dongles don't work very well, or don't support certain controllers. Good to hear that DS4Windows were quick on the draw. I ordered myself an Xbox series X controller for now because of its native support and I know 100% it will work wireless but I think DualSense makes... perfect sense too.

Hi Wulf, just so you know...the guys that made the DS4 application that makes the PS4 controller work on all games have released an update for the Dual Sense. I've been using that and it works seamlessly...both wired and wireless (Bluetooth). The haptic feedback doesn't work yet but the rumble and the addressable light bar colour works. I was using it while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla on uplay PC and it felt amazing

@@armorking481 depends on the game. There are games where you change the prompt buttons within the in game settings. Also, if you're playing a steam game, and connect the dual sense via USB.. then steam loads up the official PS5 controller config and your games will use Sony button prompts

I did buy the ds5 for pc gaming (Mostly for emulated games) Gotta say that besides the ds3, I love using the ds5's d-pad in fighting games and other 2d games a LOT. Ds4windows even supports ds5. Although the rumble only works, the adaptive triggers DO work on a program developed by someone. And you can customize your triggers the way you want to (There is even an option that allows you to make you ds5 triggers feel the same as gamecube controller triggers!) It's also pretty fun to use haptic feedback on the triggers in cod games campaign. Love the controller so far!

There are some flaws with your latency testing on the controllers, why did you test them so differently? I mean on the ps5, you were pressing down and holding the trigger down, on the xbox you were snapping the triggers, just tapping them down and letting go, I'd like to see the test redone with either both triggers being snapped, and or both being pressed down...wish I had both consoles so I could test and do a side by side, but I feel that the differences in how you were using the triggers could have potentially had an effect on your perceived results.

You're wrong on the topic of haptic feedback between Dualsense and HD Rumble. Both of these utilize voice-coils for vibration, and are programmed like speakers. And like speakers, the bigger it is, the more "full" it can be, and this is absolutely the case here. The Dualsense voice-coil actuators are significantly bigger than the Switch's linear resonant actuators, and allow much deeper vibration (again, just like a bigger speaker would compared to a small one). The Switch Pro controller, by the way, DOES have HD Rumble. It has the exact same motors in it that the Joy-Cons do. I played Super Mario Odyssey (one of my favorite games, and one of maybe 10 Switch games that use HD Rumble well) back to back with Astro's Playroom, and the difference is huge. The Dualsense's motors offer far better frequency response, depth, and directionality. Otherwise, great video as always.

@Hy Gaming because touchpad took over select, since select was taken over by the most useless button ever = share. it's already second generation of touchpad, almost 10 years since its inception and there is barely any (if any at all) real, super futuristic, cool and zoomery features that it can be used for. i found it inconsistent and pretty much completely useless. it can be used as a mouse or a cursor atleast on pc, but why would i.

My 5yr old son has actually played more then me of astro lol I finally got to play cold war for first time tonight, bit Ghost of tsushima looks amazing on 4k. If you haven't got a system yet wish you best of luck getting one. It took me so many tries to snag one. It is possible to get off walmart just keep trying. And if you have one in car and it's just loading on you ala spinning in circle just let it alone and don't touch anything that's what I did.

It reminds me of being in the arcades when I was young playing games like the terminator and wishing I had that feel at my house haha I wish my Xbox series x controller had the same feel. I do like having doubles A’s four the Xbox though, I wish my ps5 had that choice. Very happy with both though!

Was surprised that the free update for Borderlands 3 that upgrades the ps4 version to PS5 takes advantage of a ton of the dualsense stuff too. I feel the resistance triggers and haptic feedback are better here than in COD Cold War (which I also own). Really great video as usual!

What I like about the ps5 is that the joysticks are a lot more comfortable, with the Xbox series x I seem to get a few cramps while playing hardcore game like fortnite, while with the ps5 controller it’s like it melts into my hands. Also the ps5 has a lot more features.

I use a wired Razer Wolverine Ultimate controller for my One X and my right hand cramps up sooo f’n bad. My right hand is favored by like roughly 80% which if we’re talking about competitive play for hours REALLY gets to ya. I do hand and wrist exercises + stretches leading up to the forearm bc it’s so bad -- ALWAYS BUY A CONTROLLER THAT IS COMFORTABLE. Exact opposite here, I love how the Xbox controllers feel (love my elite 1, and how the new series controllers feel I can't wait for the elite version of that style, definitely buying that) and when I grabbed the dual sense, I felt I had to stretch my thumbs farther out than I do with my Xbox one and out more strain in it, as well with all the shape buttons being spaced out farther away from each other so I have to "move" it over rather than a shift or roll over to the buttons. I think the dual sense is far better than the dual shock though, far more comfortable and premium feeling than all previous versions and I feel content with the dual sense feel this time around. Funny how controller ergonomic designs vary so much between people but that's the nature of it lol

@@joejoe2658 Mine? I’ve never owned an Elite Series Xbox controller. Personally, I think that PlayStation DualShock controllers are technically more “iconic” worldwide than Xbox controllers are because...well, they are. They’ve been around longer and PlayStation sells more worldwide. Regardless, ever since the Xbox 360, Xbox controllers have become the industry gold standard. That just recently changed because of the DualSense though.

I have never understood the criticism against the touchpad, both for PS4 and PS5. I mean, Sucker Punch used the touchpad as 5 different buttons in Ghost of Tsushima basically, 4 swipes, one press in. Worked great. No, a third party developer would have to do a lot of changes to the PS4/PS5 version of the game if they wanted to do the same thing of course. Still, the touchpad is great. At the start I was kind of wondering if it was gonna get in the way somehow but it doesn't.

The Joycons and the Pro controller just like the Steam controller have linear resonance actuator or LRA haptic feedback technology whereas the DualSense uses voice coil actuators haptic feedback technology which are significantly bigger in size than the LRA in the switch pro controller as that explains the much stronger feedback. The Joycons being very small in size do not have this problem.

@@cm19981 Of course. I know it works well on Steam, but I'll check it out it with Ubisoft Connect and Origin. Highly recommend you to get the Dualsense, since it's awesome imo and more worth it. The Series controller is awesome as well, but it didn't add much to differentiate itself from the One controller. However, you could get both, if you want. :-)

@@cm19981 It works! Install the newest version of DS4Windows and emulate it as a DUALSHOCK 4. You can utilise it's rumble, which is much different to the DUALSHOCK one, and even let it cycle colors on the lightbar while charging.

@@DontSmiteMeBruh Well, as of now, the Dualsense doesn't inherently support Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers on PC. It's up to the developers of future games, that will implement those features, to patch them into their PC versions. However, even without them, the controller, as a physical object/device, is fantastic. The design and ergonomics are really comfortable and the material is of high quality, which makes the controller pretty hefty. The face buttons, D-Pad, thumbsticks and bumpers/triggers are much more tactile and nicer to press as well, plus, the bumpers and triggers are closer to one another and the face buttons/D-Pad are translucent. Plus, unlike the XBOX controllers, it has a nice, but subtle lightbar which allows for personalization and customization, as well as a trackpad which you can use as a mouse. Overall, couldn't ask for a better controller personally, so I think it's very much worth the money. :-)

Even though I've been on board with most of the decisions concerning Series S/X, the controller is the one thing that keeps me second guessing the commitment to these systems. Comparing it to Dual Sense or Pro Controller just makes it feel obsolete with no motion controls and separately sold battery back. It's such a shame.

I don't think asking for an included battery pack for the price they are asking is too much nor does should that take away the ability to use changeable batteries.

There is no competition at this point, PS has simply innovated to a point where I'm recommending the PS5 based on the controller alone. It makes me feel so much more immersed in games that use its extended features!

The triggers can be really annoying and the haptic feedback really isn’t that much better than Xbox’s so I really don’t think the controller should make or break. Plus I have the Elite controller where the PS doesn’t come close but that is only for a select amount of people so that really isn’t a huge argument.

I'm sorry but feedback is way better then the rumble. Pinpoint rumble to any part of the controller and rumble in so many different ways. The zipper felt like I was zipping something up. Ice skating felt like I was ice skating. Ever task in astro made me fell like I was doing it.

HD rumble and the Dualsense haptic feedback are similar, but also very different. Yes you can feel surfaces, materials, etc in the feedback on both controllers, but the big difference is that the HD rumble in the switch cannot produce big vibrations for games like the dualsense can. For example, explosions, car crashes, etc on the switch, those feel miniscule compared to the dualsense. The Dualsense can make much bigger vibrations. So yes, the dualsense is better.

Returnal is a great show case that the adaptive triggers on the duel sense can basically work as 2 extra buttons.
