Truly baffling that Sega refuses to nerf 4 wide. Tetris Effect has completely replaced competitive Tetris over PPT by a lanslide. No shade at Wumbo btw. I truly hated to see it go down like that, but it's the tools of the game, and I can't blame Wumbo doing that, he would've lost if he hadn't made the change, and forfeit a Grand Finals because "cheap tactic"? Nah, good stuff from Wumbo but I hope 4 wide gets eradicated for good

Couldn’t agree more. To me, PPT1/2 still has its place with Swap mode as a competitive option, but Zone Battle in Effect can just be altered to not use the Zone Meter, essentially just making it a more well balanced versus mode. Regarding Wumbo, this is in fact a tournament that had a prize pool worth playing for. As disliked as 4wide can be, a player really has to be pulling out all the stops in an environment like this to secure the prize. Major props to him though for going without it for the entire bracket run up until his run was on the line
