I think they should properly look into the specific translation or localization issues and if they find out that someone is making these big mistakes and wreaking havoc, decide what to do with them accordingly. After that, they should put out a statement apolgising and saying they’ll make sure to fix the issue (and then do that) and be done with it. I don’t think jargons like ‘Tacet Field’ instead of ‘Monster field’ are the issue here at all, if they were, we’d see these problems pervading the other language versions of the game as well, which we really don’t.

I read the first post a few weeks ago. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Every single time I visit the subreddit there is always some form of collab or event in KR. Kuro values this region a lot, so why would they fumble the ball so hard at localization when they invest so much in KR marketing? Something is missing in this story.

If Kuro hires Native South Koreans for Korean localization, it would fix the issue. Right now, the game's Korean translation is literally worse than Naver (Korean equivalent of google) auto translation.

I like WuWa. As a french player, I quickly changed the game to english. Fortunately, I am bilingual, but hearing about other players' feedback, the french translation was ridiculous as well. I do think WuWa has a huge improvement to make in terms of languages.

@@puckoff2466 if something hoyo does well is localization, kuro on release messed the japanese one too, they put kanji the japanese could not read because they used ai to translate, straight up the german translation too had a message on some npc names about updating the ai program lmao that was funny, all this on release of course but koreans complaining means something must be bad or unreadable to cause this ruckus

@@CzDelta92 oh, my question regarding Genshin Fontaine was just about its depiction of France, not about localization. Hoyo fxcked up on Korean translation before with HSR but it got fixed. Kuro has yet to fix PGR localization so we will see how Kuro handles WuWa.

If I am being honest, I think giving a deadline for response on bad translation seem a bit weird or maybe a little self-entitled to me. If it is a game breaking bug or a bad translation on weapon/skill description that led to players spending money, I agree that it should be resolve soon. Another thing is asking for a quick replacement of a localization director for bad translation and rumors. I think at least give Kuro some time to investigate whether it is true or not before they give a response or take action. I swear there will be other languages that are translated badly than Korean in WuWa since East Asia languages have some similarity. I am pretty sure quite a lot of languages are translated based on the English script and it will not be any better than Korean. Anyway, I did feedback the issue on Korean bad translation to Kuro on the recent survey. I think just give them some time to fix it (or not).

i posted this in other comments but the game had bad translations in asia since 1.0 japan literally had unreadable kanji that was too advanced for the regular japanese or ancient kanji, in the case of the german translation some npc names had ''update this program'' prompts and the program was a literal chat gpt tier translator lmao they were using ai to translate thats why it was dogshit, EN is mostly fine for the most part when is not calling female rover a ''he'' but lets not pretend the game didnt have html code on some chatboxes and other stuff like skill descriptions belonging to other characters etc, the fact that korean language is still bad after like 7 months is insane, i been playing small gachas that literally make sub 1m-500k revenue for 16 years with no other means to get revenue than mobile and their translations are 100% well in all languages, is unacceptable to pretend is kuro being an indie company specially with tencent by their side.

I think giving Kuro only 2 days to respond is a little harsh... and i'm wondering if perhaps the messages (being in Korean) are going to the Korean branch only...? Hope the message is getting through to the right people who can sort it out. And, if the message does get through to 'head-office', they need time to investigate and come up with a solution. This would take more than 2 days! I feel sorry for Koreans if they are missing out on some aspects (even if minor). I would be annoyed too if the EN translation was badly messed up. I can't comment on how severe the mistranslation is though - we get the odd spelling mistake which doesn't worry me at all - but it sounds like it's far worse than this.

mistranslations and bad translations are a big thing of why kuro did bad in japan at the start, they put kanji not even japanese people could read and they mocked kuro for this, they put some high level kanji or ancient kanji because they hire a moron using AI to translate, is cool mocking koreans till you realize japan and korea are carrying kuros revenue, the west all combined does less than one of those countries, americans are not even top 10 in playerbase for gachas even philipines has more players and is only asian countries in top 10.

Its "Jargons" because its words that alot of normal modern people don't use nowadays aka Archaic etc (or if you're not in that specific field of studies you won't know it etc), just open google and search the words you don't understand you will find, some of the "jargons" are intentional tying in the lore. And be ready for alot of "Jargons aka quotes,words etc you won't understand or recognize" because Kuro in WW uses alot of myths etc as a bases for the setting of the region etc, and also be ready for alot of quotes that used in theatrical play especially the stuff Phrolova spouted and Kuro will make char. that has background in play,acting,musicians etc quote some words etc (like with PGR Roland,Selena etc).

Kuro's another game Punishing Gray Raven Korea localization had years to amend its flaws and nothing happened; that is why Koreans are antsy. Kuro failed once but PGR was not a hit franchise anyway. WuWa, on the other hand, already made it big, Korean market is now as big as -if not bigger- the US market. And they rightfully demand the quality localization they deserve.
